Anyway, that's too bad, because Apollo 13 is without a doubt one of the best movies I've ever seen. Absolutely top 5. Maybe Top-2. |
Oh, and just watched Episode 11 the other day; great episode.

Doesn't completely stop me from watching stuff that he's in, but I certainly won't watch anything just because he's the star. And the only movie he's been in that I really like is Lord of War. |
How does this thread have anything to do with Nicholas Cage and Tom Cruise?
WTF? :hmmm::Poke::facepalm::shrug: |

He's so thirsty, but he's also committed, so you know he's always actively trying to win you over, but you also know he'll do some amazing shit to get it done. Reminds me of a story about [I think it was] Ed Begley Jr. back in his standup days. This was when 'performance art' like Andy Kaufman was starting to come on the scene as 'comedy.' And Begley had a standup partner act where they were supposed to be a bluegrass/folk duo, but they just stood on stage for 15-20 minutes tuning their guitars. Play a chord, fiddle with the tuning knobs, play a chord, fiddle, play, etc. . . [EDIT: important point, this was one of those 'coffee house' impromptu standup gigs, not like a scheduled event with a theater where they advertised and sold tickets to 'see Begley and blah-blah, live comedy!!'] Folks would be quiet for a little bit, then they'd start to laugh, then they'd start to boo and throw stuff, then eventually they would start howling with laughter. Which is to say, commitment to a bit can be irritating, until it eventually becomes inspired. |

I've successfully managed to keep Cruise separated in my mind. I like Cruise the actor. I manage to not pay enough attention to keep Cruise the crazy out of my consciousness. I'm lucky. |
Anyone check out ‘LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special’ yet?
It’s pretty good. Lots of callbacks to the 1978 classic and all 9 trilogy movies. |

Anyway, I went through a period where I wasn't too high on TC, but I'm over it now. He's a good watch, generally. he may not do a lot of thought-provoking stuff, but he does a lot of fun movies. Tom Hanks is great. But I might be biased because I actually met him once before he was famous. Or rather around the time he was doing that TV show "Bosom Buddies." Great guy. And Julia Roberts is great-looking in that 'girl-next-door' way. And a pretty good actress as well. I've watched plenty of movies because she was in them and I figured they couldn't be bad because of it. Mostly I was right, every once in awhile I was wrong. Oh, but about the Mandalorian. It's great. |

Got its start from people labeling those who post sexy pictures online in order to get compliments as a 'thirst trap.' |
The mark of true greatness for a television show is that I actually get up at 4:30 am so I can watch it before work.
Mando is I believe the first show to strike that mark. |

The one character that I’ve always wanted to see onscreen, whether Live Action or animated, is Jorj Car’das, so there’s still hope we might see him someday. |

Good lord.
Spoiler!
Oh, and major ****ing advancement of the plot. HOLY SHIT THIS SHOW IS SO AMAZING It just boggles my mind every day that they botched the sequel trilogy so bad. Everything else Disney has done is pure sex cake. I also love the way they're treating the New Republic in this. There is a lot of potential here for Thrawn era movies. I'm really hoping that in 10 years Favreau is directing the REAL sequel trilogy with CGI Han, Luke and Leia. The technology is going to be there. |

They aren't perfect, but at least they were original, and The Clone Wars cartoon series was amazing. All of it deserves to be treated canon. NOTHING Jar Jar Abrams has shat out should ever be. |
I'm still thinking about how good that ****ing episode was.
I was laughing, crying and fist pumping hard. I'm definitely emotionally attached to Mando, the kid, Carl Weathers In Star Wars and Cara Dune now. When Ashoka shows up I am going to be a mess. This show is just ****ing cool. It's the Han Solo of post ROTJ content. |
Just a lot of fun shit in this.

I really enjoy this show. Hope they dont SJW the **** out of it and ruin it.
Other than Rogue One, its by far the best thing SWU has put out in the last 20yrs. |
Agreed with all the opinions so far. This episode was amazing, and I did not see that coming from Carl Weathers. Clay covered it already, but I literally lol'd when

We need more 80s icons in Star Wars....can we get Michael Biehn as a Rebel spy or something...John Malkovich as an Imperial officer would be next level. The CGI looked pretty good too. |
I think what I'm digging this season is how much callback they're doing to video games. The Marshal was a quest line straight out of Knights of the Old Republic, with a little twist, and The Siege was almost literally the plot of Dark Forces.

So cool... |

You weren't hard on them. They were bad movies. Badly scripted, poorly acted. And a complete departure from the essence of what made the original trilogy so enjoyable.
The Clone Wars series redeemed them slightly by filling in some holes and greatly deepening the characters. I really hope that's not what they're trying to do with the Mandalorian and the sequel trilogy. |

Those didn't look like suits at all to me. We'll see, though.
Either way, really cool that they're farming video games for source material. |
Yeah, some dork videos I watched talked about the games/droids. All that shit is above my paygrade, but I'm sure the easter eggs are big for guys that played those.

This show is great. I love the effects, the settings, the characters.
I like SW lore but haven't really watched Rebels or read any of the books/comics so there are some things I'm sure I miss. Like, I picked up on the mention of the dark saber. I'm assuming I'm supposed to know who Bo-Katan is but nah. |
