From Terez. If this is true then Clark Hunt should die in an AIDS fire...

Quote:

“My hunch, guys, is I think it was money,” Terez said. “This is the time of year they’re negotiating. Notice how Big Red gets his extension. And then John Dorsey wants his extension and decides it’s not gonna work out. What if they decided they were just so far apart on the money there was no bridging the gap? Maybe that’s possible.

“I can tell you guys that I’ve been told from sources that people in the organization knew John Dorsey wanted an extension. That’s true. I can also tell you, he wanted to get paid. He was seeking a payday, fellas. This news can only come out now if they knew they weren’t going to pay whatever his price tag was.”

The tendency to make disparaging comments seems to be linked to the personality trait of narcissism. For example:

People high on narcissistic tendencies see themselves as being more important than others and therefore deserving of better treatment, a quality called narcissistic entitlement.
These individuals spend excessive amounts of time polishing up their appearance, and believe themselves to be the center of the universe, an extreme form of egocentrism.
The belief that they’re better than everyone forms the core of narcissistic grandiosity, and these people often take advantage of others.
They lack empathy, so they don’t realize the impact that their remarks or behaviors have on their targets.
They pronounce judgments on people they perceive as inferior—which is almost everyone.

Outside of Dorsey asking for an unspeakable amount, it probably a little more than "I gots to get mines!"

Red Dawg 06-22-2017 08:41 PM

I think the cap management is probably the big reason that was mentioned. We never have money. I mean never never never have money. Long negotiations with star players. Bowe busted hard. Alex way to early. Maclin waste of money and cut on voice mail.

He brought in many unlike talents that played well but money rules the land. We can't fill in holes with no money. That is probably what did it. Timing sucks though.

11-5, 9-7, 11-5, 12-4, with 2016 as AFC Divisional Champs.

This year, they made the bold move (which I thought was absolutely imperative) to move up and draft a QBOTF.

How anyone can criticize Dorsey for providing players on a team that's won 43 regular season games during that time (and losing only 21) is beyond my ability to comprehend.

Good ****ing grief.

I'm guessing Reid wants more control over player personnel and Hunt is gonna give Reid what he wants. Face it, no new GM will be hired that is not a yes man to Reid.

DaWolf 06-22-2017 08:59 PM

Theory, and apologies if this has already been discussed. Didn't scroll through the thread.

What if this is in relation to the offseasonmoves thus far? Charles got cut without much discussion and was pissed. Signed with Denver to stick it to Dorsey. Berry and Houston, who had to go through aa lot to get extensions, skip workouts. Peters stays away. Maclin in gets cut unceremoniously. Players express shock and are pissed.

Perhaps Clark and Reid were looking at a potentially fractured locker room on their hands, with more cuts having to come next year and players not wanting to negotiate with Dorsey. and Clark decided to take action?

Perhaps not, we will see soon enough. But it's not about that it's about how it happened. Same with Maclin. Players talk. They are close. May have seen how these moves were done as disrespectful, may not have been anxious to go above and beyond for the organization if that's how they were to be treated. Hunt may not have liked that perception...

Most interesting part for the team going forward was talking about how much work Mahomes needs. But nothing too surprising for a raw rookie.

Ballard was known as a very good evaluator of secondary talent. Sean Smith was probably the work of Dorsey and Ballard.
One of Dorsey's personnel hires that we just fired was with Seattle previously and acquiring our guys from them (Howard, Parker, Ware).

I don't think Geoff Schwartz or Marcus Cooper were all Andy either. In fact, I think it was more Dorsey and his hired personnel guys.
