he absolutely needs to keep out of trouble though. Berry will see to it, I'd imagine. At least as much as he can.

Remember when we got Fuller, Amerson, and were like okay adding some depth then bye Marcus.

I hope all the running backs we brought on, including the undrafted RB who could have gone elsewhere, don't know something we don't like a suspension on the horizon or so

For the record I'm not sure if this is the photo but I imagine it is at the same function Dante was referring to above. Kareem Hunt is fine weight wise IMO, the two altercations is what has me more worried.

That's it?

Pffffff. That's nothing.

That absolutely has nothing to do with Kareem.

I think the additions were more a combination of a few things:
+ Mahomes thrived with 2 HB sets in college, so we'll likely see a lot of that.
+ The RB's we brought in can catch the ball in space well, and have pro experience, decent upside and cheap contracts
+ West is overpaid for his contribution level/value and runs like Luigi in Super Mario 2, where his legs pump twice as much as they need to.
+ Ware is very talented, but coming off a serious injury
+ Akeem Hunt was worthless

Obviously, some of the Rb's aren't gonna be around during the season. Kareem is way to cheap and too much value to just let go, but if he's having a lot of off field issues and someone offered a premium pick, I dunno.

DaFace 06-06-2018 11:18 AM

Megathreads suck, just for the record.

staylor26 06-06-2018 11:25 AM

The first incident was clearly not his fault whatsoever, so I won’t hold it against him. This is strike 1.

Even then, the fact that the guy isn’t pressing charges makes me think he probably deserved it.

Possibly Alex's best pass of the entire season, and pretty amazing to see a rookie RB in his first game run a route like this.

Just wanted to post this play. Back to discussing if Kareem is the next Ray Rice.

I don't know how serious it is. But we have now two off-field incidents in a single off-season.

That doesn't make him a bad character guy, but he's doing something wrong.

1st - A drunk, underage girl causes trouble at a hotel party and is thrown out, then continues to scream obscenities and bang on the door until hotel security throws her out.

2nd- An "Alleged" "Unverified" incident where an unknown person who wished to be anonymous and did not press charges or seek medical treatment- states he was punched by Hunt.

I hope he does not get suspended.

Kareem Hunt 911 Call From Alleged Violent Incident

Quote:

TMZ Sports has obtained the 911 call made by the woman who claimed Kareem Hunt shoved her at his apartment ... telling the operator, "I was assaulted and I need help."

Back in February, cops in Cleveland were called to Hunt's residence by a 19-year-old woman who said the Pro Bowl RB roughed her up.

"I was assaulted and I need help."

The operator asks the woman who assaulted her, and she responds ... "I think his first name is Kareem."

She goes on to say he's a 5'10" black male with a medium to heavy build.

As for Hunt's side ... he VEHEMENTLY denied touching the woman, and his friends told cops she was actually the one to go crazy after he asked her to leave his place ... with her screaming "F**k you, n*****!"

When cops got to the scene, they weren't able to determine that anyone had been assaulted, so no arrests were made.

that mid season lull he had, especially being a RB, it's the best way. keep him in the game enough to keep in rhythm, but more as a decoy for about six games, then when all the defenses are bruised and battered, put him in to punish them more :thumb:

ETA: one could say the same thing about berry, but for different reasons obviously. :D

read blocks correctly, made critical plays as a receiver, and didn't wither under pressure.

PAChiefsGuy 10-02-2018 02:40 PM

He runs with such power with those tree-trunk legs but he also has good speed and balance. Great draft pick and an awesome RB.

I love how pretty much all of our star offensive players were drafted. Gotta give credit to Dorsey there.

I agree, Mr. PAChiefsGuy.

Truthfully, he's the whole package (almost). Just needs to work on his vision behind the line. If he would do that, he'd elevate his game dramatically.

He has incredible balance, excellent feet, defense-damaging power, low pad-level in traffic, and great hands out of the backfield. Just work on his eyes and recognition (I'm sure they have classes for that) and he's a repeat pro-bowler, IMO.

Key observation, Mr. Tribal Warfare.

Not only did he not wither, he rose to the occasion. Hunt made some clutch plays ... in the clutch ... clutchily.

I like that Kareem brings that road grader toughness to our finesse offense, but Kamara is a special talent.

Kamara's on pace for like 1,100 rushing yards and 1,300 receiving yards lol insane. He reminds me of Jamaal.

The sheer physicality that Hunt brings is priceless. We already have Tyreek Hill. Having a powerful, but a dynamic powerback like Hunt gives us some of that in-your-face nastiness that I don't think Kamara brings

O.city 10-02-2018 03:49 PM

Yeah, Hunt's got great balance and runs with power.

But you put Kamara on the field with the current group, you'd have so much freaking speed. I'd prefer a guy that can avoid getting tackled than having to run over guys.

CaliforniaChief 10-08-2018 09:57 AM

Just more love for Kareem. I'm not sure I've seen another RB with the combination of burst, balance, toughness, and dependability of #27.

He's not killing it statistically, but he's a guy who moves the chains, breaks tackles, and turns 5 yard passes in the flat into 50.

Hammock Parties 10-16-2018 02:59 AM

Dude is special but no one seems to recognize him. Probably because he plays on the same offense with Reek and Mahomes. He's our Edge James.

Chiefs=Champions 10-16-2018 04:34 AM

Kareem doesn't get the credit he deserves. He hits people and barely gets hit as a result. His balance is phenomenal and he doesn't exactly have a good line to run behind. He never, ever fumbles which is insane given his running style.

Obviously Kamara is a more dynamic talent, but i think Hunt is truely the best fit for this offense with all the speed we already have. I think Hunt adds that toughness - he doesn't go out of bounds and lowers his head, fines be damned. The guys only 23, I think he's gonna continue to improve and he's already a top 5 back.

Sassy Squatch 10-16-2018 04:36 AM

Don't know what changed but he seems to be running with a lot of anger this year. I like it. Just keep your doofy face out of the opponents after you're done wrecking their shit.

KChiefs1 10-22-2018 05:21 PM

The Hunt for Red February.

Chris Meck 10-22-2018 05:33 PM

I think due to his style, Hunt will be effective longer than most. He dishes out more punishment than he takes, and he's not a burner so speed is not a huge part of his game. That elite balance will serve him well. More like a bigger Marcus Allen type than a Jamaal Charles type.

I think so too. His legs are way thicker than Jamaal's. Doesn't mean he's injury-proof, but the stronger your legs are the less likely you are to blow out your knee. Charles was great to say the least, but you held your breath every time he touched the ball. Gotta love the fact that Hunt hasn't fumbled since his first carry too. Excellent receiver, one of the best backs playing right now for sure. Tons of heart. Could go down as one of our best draft picks ever, in hindsight should've obviously been a 1st-rounder.

Hunt is monster. He was a force Sunday night and was in Denver as well. Destroying players.

Being overshadowed by Mahomes this season but this guy is amazing. Likes to hit people and those tree-trunk legs make him extremely hard to tackle. Beast!

I said it last year but Kareem's legs are different than most people. The hips being rotated out like a reverse pigeon toe cut down on his top-end speed but give him incredible balance.

Pay close attention to them.

Nah really when your feet point out like that people give you shit about it, especially kids even now occasionally my kids will ask me why my toes are pointed out.

It's like uh I dunno that's just the way my feet and legs are?
