A thought on green Japanese beetles and moles. Apply Milky Spore.
https://lawnlove.com/blog/milky-spore-for-grub-control/ It interrupts the beetle life cycle. It's a bacteria that gets absorbed into the soil and kills the grubs. It will stay in the soil for ~10 years. Down side, it takes many applications over time to fully imbed. I am on my 3rd year of applying in the spring and fall. Last summer I noticed the lack of beetles. Not perfect but better than the prior year. It also needs to be watered in, so right before a rain or sprinkler. Also, not cheap. I have a large yard, 1.5 acre, and it costs me ~$300 per. Upside, controls the beetles and MOLES. I know that moles feed on different things ie worms, but last year, not nearly as many moles. Cut their food supply and they go elsewhere. A thought... |

Our cabin lot is just a little lest than 1/2 acre. Our E-Go can't get through the entire lot without recharging. It is nice and quiet though |
Damn House Sparrows.
Little bastards are persistent as hell and won't leave my Martins alone. Look, dickhead, the martins eat stuff and are fun to watch. You're just in invasive pest. Fly away or I'll keep ripping BBs at you every chance I get. I will kill these little bastards soon. But that crappy little Crossman of mine can't shoot straight past about 10 yards. It's making things a wee difficult. |

I was like, will a .22 not get it done? |
Just bought some Cidercide.
https://cedarcide.com/ My main point was for all the lady bugs that get into the house. Upon further review, it will help with my Japanese Beetles as well. Thoughts: spray a perimeter on the lawn around the house using my lawn sprayer behind the mower. Then, using the spray wand (shoots ~30'), hose down all outside door/window frames. Hose down my fruit trees to kill the beetles. Use a hand held 1g pump sprayer inside on the door/window frames. How it works. Seems to make sense?? https://cedarcide.com/blogs/guides/c...oil-kills-bugs |

We have to paint the back of our house(painted the others 2 years ago), but the ever green bushes have grown crazy close to the wall! I decided that yesterday war a good day to trim them up. I didn’t take into consideration that I am on blood thinners.
Attachment 128794 It looks like I got mugged by a cat! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Yep, it's that time of year! We just replaced out landscape with a bed of river rocks ala Arizona style. Fixing to fretilize the lawn and kill the weeds. Lay down some grass seed, pressure wash our urns, and LSU huge plant pot. Also repaint the mailbox. We look forward to the end results.
