The moderating team didn't bother to learn from that little nugget 'o history, so here we are repeating it.

There's like a .9 correlation with the drop in football discussion and the day those fools started registering here.

Looks like Foles won't have Spencer Ware....and maybe not Maclin either.

ToxSocks 11-03-2016 11:19 AM

Jeremy Maclin (groin) will not practice Thursday.

Maclin was not listed on the injury report Wednesday, so this looks like a new injury. Mid-week additions are never a good sign, but it is too early to tell how serious the injury is. Maclin's participation Friday will be important to monitor.

I'd be more concerned about this if it was the 2015 season.

Maclin's been near invisible this year and has dropped a ton of balls. Kelce, Conley, Hill and West can make up for his absence, if necessary.

All on the injury report. Geez. Thank God it's the Jags

I have been nothing but open minded and fair with Foles so far. No reason to expect that to change. Alex is my boo, but if Foles is the guy, no problem. I'm fine with Smith just retiring already, though preference is for him to be the guy to win it all for KC.

You don't need to create BS around here for the drama.

I said we're going to meet some nice squishy opponents in our schedule to waltz through and probably end up with 10+ wins when all is said and done.

I also wasn't very optimistic about this team competing in the playoffs, particularly if we had to encounter Pittsburgh again. I'm still not, even when we get Houston back. You can also probably forget about taking down New England.

I believe NE is beatable, especially given they traded their best defensive players and the Chiefs best is yet to return.

This is a 12 win team, minimum.

Must be planning to do it whenever Houston is ready to roll.

I want them and Pittsburgh with a somewhat healthy roster. Haven't had that in the playoffs. Someone ALWAYS gets hurt. Get Houston back, Gaines to stay healthy and have the full compliment of offensive players and bring it on.

Honestly dude (or Elizabeth, if that's you), I think you would understand it a little better if you weren't so used to interfacing with 49ers fans...they are a fan base that has been pretty spoiled in the semi-recent past in terms of their team's success. Whenever I hear a 49ers fan belly-aching over something, I become annoyed and think to myself, "you don't even know what pain is when it comes to your teams' woes, you spoiled brats."

There are a lot of "blind homer" Chiefs fans out there (and they are a freaking problem, considering some of the shitstorms that have arisen over the years). This is no surprise...every fanbase has them. However, there is a group of Chiefs fans who are annoyed to the point where they've reached the end of their rope and are skeptical of the moves they make...and for good reason. Many things seem like a repeat of something that didn't end well, which gives us the "well, we've experienced this played out story many times before...and we know how it ends" apathetic vibe.

Let me ask you a few questions and if you see where I am going with it, maybe you will be somewhat capable of understanding why certain Chiefs fans come off the way they do. Why is the year 1970 significant? Who is Todd Blackledge and how does he tie in to the Chiefs? Who is Lin Elliott? What was the no-punt game? Why do we hate the Colts so much? What happened to our star QB the last time we made the AFC Championship? Who did we lose to in the playoffs in 1997 and why did that suck so badly? What was the Grbac vs. Gannon controversy and how did it end? How did it feel to root for a team that had Herm Edwards as their HC? How did it feel watching an expensive, yet unproven Matt Cassel play QB for us for 3.5 seasons because he was more or less shoved down our throats?? Did you know that in 2012 there was a team that finished 2-14, flew banners over the stadium on gamedays requesting the benching of the QB and firing of our GM, had a starter who shot and killed his girlfriend and then offed himself in the parking lot where this team plays in front of the GM and HC....in which despite the fact that this coach/GM saw this, they were still awful enough to be fired? Did you know that team was the Kansas City Chiefs?

I don't know, try answering some of those questions and think about how it would feel to experience all of it and then you may have a better understanding as to why some Chiefs fans are the way they are.

I think even human punching bags bring something to the table. So unless someone is spamming bullshit links, or posting racial or disgusting images they should stay. Anyone that wants to actually talk football should stay. The homers are needed to post stuff too.

Things are different when a poster has been repeatedly banned, then makes private pledges and concessions with the board to secure a return.

Their continued presence here then becomes between them, not the community.

He'll hate a stat until it supports whatever particular brand of inane horseshit he's spewing, then it becomes his stat of the day. The GIFs are cherry picked and the freeze-frames are generally just wrong. Hell, even when he's trying to back his own horse with one of those he's an idiot. He posted that one with Foles not looking at the RB leaking free on the back side when he threw an out route the other way and said "That's okay, with more film study he'll hit that..."

No he ****ing won't; QBs don't have eyes in the back of their heads and the play was never designed for the leak route to be used unless everything's fallen apart. He had an okay look on the out and he took it because that's what you do in a timing offense. But Clay believes quarterbacks are given the same view he gets on Madden where they can somehow see the entire field at once and know that the backside defender on a play designed to go to the opposite side of the field hasn't gotten to the sideline quickly enough. Sure thing, sport.

He posts gifs all the time that actually undermine his point. He'll post images out of context that make no sense even on their face and make even less sense when put in full review. Some of what he says is accurate because nobody's wrong all the time but the majority of it falls apart when subject to scrutiny.

To be commended, counselor.

Aight', Imma' be real.

Let's start with you. As a poster, you bore me more than 5000 consecutive screen passes ever could. You never make me laugh, you never make me angry either. You're just kinda' floating in the bowl like a goldfish on it's last breath.
And that thing in your avatar is so ****ing ugly, there should be a special Chiefs Planet function for blocking the avatars of specific users, created just for you. I would literally rather look at Hillary's saggy gunt and poot-chute than that thing you're sporting.
For the love of God man; people are sometimes eating meals while perusing these threads.
And you say Clay had no shame. :shake:

Next up, Tigger Unclesuck.

Goddamn.

Do I even have to expend energy typing ANYTHING about that mother****er at this point?
That fact that I even had to spend 2.5 seconds typing that little dick sucker's name is offensive, and should earn him a bannin'. Wasn't he a ****ing Jaguars fan or some shit?! What the **** is wrong with you people?

:shake:

Nick Foles?!

The same guy that couldn't beat out Sam Bradford or Casey Keenum?

Who the **** is this guy?

Does this mean that Bray is the backup?

He's also the guy that did very well in Andy Reids offense. He could be a system qb. I doubt he's starter material. But lack of success in two completely different offenses doesn't necessarily mean anything

BossChief 11-04-2016 08:44 AM

1) anybody else get a sense that this Alex Smith precaution stuff is kinda similar to the DAT situation and has the potential to be more than just this week? Smith talked about his family and his brain and he was obviously effected on both hits and is now in "return to play protocol" ...? some say he passed all the tests, some don't...just, strange.

2) Nick Foles is going to throw for 300+ yards Sunday. Get ready for an exciting showing from the guy. We're about to see what this offense can do when it's able to utilize its speed at WR to force the safeties to protect the deep zones instead of playing up all day. Should be fun.

I won't be shocked if he has 300+ yards and 3-4tds against a strong Jags defense.

I really think these WRs are extremely underrated and are going to thrive with a guy like Foles that will give them a chance to go make plays.

3) http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...&postcount=837 if anybody ever bought the bs excuse that tigeruncle****er wasn't blackbob, here's the accidental admission.

4) banning clay for that stuff is orangemane level shit

5) nice post, DCS

saphojunkie 11-04-2016 08:47 AM

Sac hates Foles. I am no longer undecided. Like voting for very politician Brownback has come out against...

Foles baby. Bring him down.

nor does 1 year of success prove anything

Foles best year was under chip kelly

No he didn't.

People keep saying that, but his successful season was under Chip Kelly. Under Reid he was 1-5 with a 6-5 TD/INT and 6.4 Y/A. He was every bit the checkdown artist Smith is but added turnovers to boot.

There's very little evidence that he's capable of excelling in Reid's system. Hell, there's very little evidence he's capable of excelling at all; he fell to shit the year after his hot streak when the league caught onto Kelly's system.

People should really read MN's post on Arrowhead Pride that breaks down Alex and Nick's performance from Sunday before you go slurping up the Kool-aid .

A large number of the people who want a change seem enamored with demanding the deep ball and need the sexy play to satiate their football consumption.

Foles isn't going to go deep more often, but he'll take shots further down the field on deep balls more than Alex.

ptlyon 11-04-2016 09:49 AM

He ha he said deep balls

This made my brain hurt.

So he's not going to go deep more often - but he'll take shots deeper down the field more often than Alex.

It depends on how you define deep.

If it's 20ish yards, both Smith and Foles go that deep at roughly the same rates. In fact, Foles threw more fewer than 5 yards than Smith did. It's just that Foles depth of target on deep balls was deeper than Smith's was.

He's right; read the article. It's a very fair, evenhanded analysis.

I don't know how many times this needs to be explained. Surely you guys aren't actually this stupid. It's not about wanting a "sexy play" or wanting "fantasy football points".

The threat of downfield passing totally changes the way teams defend the Chiefs. If they have to respect deep passes, they can't key on the run game and short/screen passing game as easily. It's no different than the concept of running the ball to set up play action pass. I get that Clay doesn't necessarily present it that way, and that his machine gun posting style makes it difficult to see past his bullshit and recognize the bigger picture. But a deep passing threat blows this offense wide open, not just in terms of big plays, but also in the effectiveness of all the short high percentage stuff that Andy Reid loves.

Are people being intentionally obtuse? Or do they really not understand this?

They don't understand this. People are so afraid of a turnover because they are used to Smiff playing QB, who doesn't have an "attack" nature and just wants to make a few plays and not **** up. As a result, any turnover when running a conservative attack gets magnified.
