The only reason I could entertain this as possible is I think Mahomes, Reid and Veach are all getting antsy to get back to the MVPat offense.

There’s a world where I could see Veach adding another weapon in an attempt to force that issue.

That said, I don’t think it’s likely nor makes much sense.

Don't you think Rice + Worthy + Slot WR + Mid-Round Rookie + RB who can contribute to the pass game couldn't take the load off of Kelce?

Let me give you a proposition: Re-sign Hollywood for a year, take WR Isaiah Bond from Texas at 3-66, and RB Bhayshul Tuten from Virginia Tech at 3-95. There are 3 sub-4.4 guys you just added onto the offense. You spent less money and less draft capital than you just sent away for DK Metcalf. In fat, you've saved enough money to probably add a pass rusher like Josh Sweat in FA.

Tell me which is the more complete roster in terms of overall balance and hedged against injury?

Option A: WR Metcalf, WR Rice, WR Worthy, WR Scrub, WR Scrub, WR Remigio, RB Pacheco, RB Scrub, RB Scrub, TE Kelce, TE Gray, TE Wiley

Option B: WR Rice, WR Worthy, WR Brown, WR Bond, WR Scrub, WR Remigio, RB Pacheco, RB Tuten, RB Scrub, TE Kelce, TE Gray, TE Wiley

I'd be really happy with that if they can make it happen. Speed kills!

I think we are just an LT away from this again, Mahomes just needs like +1 more second on average to throw. Don't know if we need a $25M WR to make this happen, but Veach knows best

Yeah I think we all agree that competent LT play and an upgrade at RB are the best ways to get back to that.

Now if Veach is able to fix LT and RB while also finding a way to add DK Metcalf then I’m not going to say no to that either.

I’d actually rather see Veach focus on OL and let WR go Rice/Worthy/Kelce and then cheap others. I personally can see Mahomes feeding Kelce much more targets than usual because this is probably his last season.

BUT I was more saying a DK trade screams Veach and how he likes to make bold splashy moves. If LT wasn’t an issue I could see him already trading for DK.

Would it really surprise anyone if Veach, Signs Stanley AND trades for DK? I mean would it really?

Not in the least, especially after what we just saw in the Super Bowl and the level of disrespect this entire league and it's media have reigned down on one of the greatest dynasties the NFL has ever seen. I think this franchise is pissed.

I hope he goes all in like he never has before and we just fist the rest of the league. I really feel like it just might happen.

I like what you are suggesting....but one question:

What if the price for Metcalf was a 3rd or 4th this year? I have seen some reports saying that the best Seattle could hope for was a 3rd or 4th.

There is still the issue of finding cap space....

DK Metcalf is not coming. You guys need to get over this nonsense.

RunKC 03-07-2025 10:58 AM

I will do you one better: Luther Burden falls to 31, we draft him, then trade up to nab Judkins in rd 2 and use the rest of the draft on defense.

That'd be fine, there'd be people all mad though.

Metcalf is a pipe dream and a move like that probably closes the Chiefs window more than it opens it because its going to cost you draft capital which is you best way to manage the cap and its going to cost you some of your home grown talent because you are going to pay Metcalf instead of a guy like Karlaftis, and suddenly you look an awful lot like the Bengals...

Paying WRs 30M a year is no longer in vogue. Look at the 49ers. Teams are trying to trade away these contracts. Look at the Bengals, I don't know what the hell they are doing with Chase and Higgins, but its stupid. There are WRs that come out every year in the draft and contribute, or quickly become emerging stars. Hell unlike LT, college developes WRs all the time. Why over pay when you don't have to
