Don't see how you can say that. Looks to me like the roster has a lot of question marks that must trend upwards to have success. The Chargers have a better roster and the Raiders could also. However, they both have other issues that might slow them down, but based on talent, they have more IMO.

The Chargers who draft in the top 15 every year have more talent? No....

Both these teams have more known talent. They didn't just draft 10 or however many new players the Chiefs did.

They had to manufacture pressure, it did not come from the DL. That is the issue. When you have to manufacture it most of the time, it leaves other stuff vulnerable.

It's not like they're the only team that blitzes.

That's been the argument for years.....and they still haven't done dick.

True, and that's exactly why I said they have other issues that could hold them back.

Their defense SHOULD be better this year. That, and their coach making bonehead decisions, was their main issue last season.

We'll see if it helps them. They've always played us tough....so it doesn't really matter.

Yes. That's why I said the Chiefs players have to trend upwards. I was referring to all the new talent

No. I get that. But they don't sack the QB when they do. Would be nice if the DL could get more pressure on their own so the rest of the defense could stay honest.

That’s why they drafted Karlaftis and are wanting to bring back Ingram.

Did you see this secondary and how terrible it was? Sorenson and Matheiu were slow and old, Thornhill was benched for making mistakes all the time, Ward is gone and Hughes was a disaster.

With the receivers and QB’s coming to the division we needed a secondary that wasn’t a dumpster fire

I think the sack numbers were somewhat flukey. Sack totals fluctuate wildly for even some of the best pash rushers.

You also have to consider that the pass rush got much stronger after adding Ingram and moving Jones back inside. If they'd started the year with that, I'd imagine the sack total would have been much better and the pressure rate would have been through the roof.

I'd still like to see a little more pressure without needing to blitz, but this narrative of a dogshit DL just isn't true.

Just for this year - move Karlaftis inside on obvious passing downs. So you have Ingram, Karlaftis, Jones, Clark. And Chenal running around in the Niemann role with the potential to blitzy from anywhere.

Sounds like a plan...

Our linebackers got better. Our DL last year was an experiment that did not go well. They started by putting Jones outside because they thought they had brought in a solid interior through Free Agents. Once Jones was back inside and we added Ingram we were much better. Clark needs to make more of an impact, period.

Sorenson being gone immediately makes our secondary better. When you see that they replaced older slower linebackers with younger faster meaner players that should reduce the number of big plays that happened last year.

I agree with we have to wait and see how these players fit in the NFL and if they come together as a team.

I would rather add an edge rusher than another WR as there aren't any true impact players out there that aren't injured. IMO
