This validated the move.

Best post in this thread.

Alex is not totally to blame but we need a QB to make the big plays when they count against good teams.

The defense played pretty shitty as well.

He's an inch taller than Robinson with longer arms and one of the best verticals in the league.

Robinson was in stride on most of those, a high ball wasn't even necessary, even if Conley

I'm glad that Jim Nantz and Tony Romo were able to help you determine that interceptions were good things for defenses to have.

to be fair he did make a big play to bring them within 2, or up 1 if Reid went for the FG instead (although I still think it was a TD catch by Harris and Reid should have challenged it). Gaines subsequently shit the bed.

If so I'd still blame Alex.

First of all, Conley is gone for the year so he needs to adjust. We've got three WRs who are 5'10 or shorter- he needs to bring that shit down. D Rob was wide open anyway. Absolutely no reason whatsoever to force a jump catch in that situation. I'm not sure what the left side of the field was looking like, but a catch in stride probably goes for another 10 at absolute minimum.

The entire team played like shit today. If the defense was even remotely competitive stopping Bell today, I'd listen to how Alex played so poorly.

This was the ultimate definition of a team loss. (Minus special teams I suppose)

The D gave up 17 ****ing points.

SEVEN-****ING-TEEN.

That's LESS than they gave up last year against Pittsburgh at Arrowhead.

And Smith responded by missing an ADDITIONAL opportunity for a TD.

Yeah that is fair. I wish Alex played every series like they are down 3 TD's. He seems to play more aggressive and loose when they are behind.

I'm not engaging in an Alex Smith discussion with you.

Not trying to turn this into an anti-alex thread but we have designed plays for Kelce, short screens, shovel passes all to play within Alex's limitations. Having big guys like Conley/Kelce probably save his ass a lot and also gets them KILLED in the process. I hope these normal/undersized receivers don't expose more of what isn't there.

Just not sure what it accomplishes to focus blame on one area in particular. It was all a shit show... until it wasn't.. and was just not enough gone right in the end to make up for the complete shit-show of 3 quarters.

I mean.. if it makes people feel better to blame one person..

I'm just glad that the team isn't in their locker room pointing fingers and crying about a bad game leading to a 5-1 record. Shit happens. Pitt has our number, and we should have another chance to make it right down the road.

One QB had a run game that ran for nearly 200 yds, and a perfect pocket for most throws.

The other QB had a run game that supplied what? 20 yards? and was harassed on most throws.

It's not a real shocker which team's QB came away with a W.

and the Pittsburgh pass defense is ranked #1, giving up under 140 yds/game and only 3 TDs all season.

Due to their bad run defense, which didn't show today at all

That's because you've already lost the discussion.
