Bailey did well for himself...Dorsey is a generous giver of contracts, but good to sign a DE that gets sacks

ummmmmmmmm

This doesn't match the OP, does it?

The 2nd and 3rd rounds of Fat Scott's 2011 draft class look good now… Rodney Hudson, Justin Houston, and Allen Bailey… not bad.

Unfortunately Jon Baldwin was the Chiefs first round pick that year.

I almost nailed it on the head.

What? You let him "walk" just yesterday. Not a week ago, not a month ago. Yesterday.

Deserved it. Hopefully Hudson is next.

I remember when I was touting both of these guys and was told to get ****ed because they sucked.

I love each and everyone of you.

Ever think that had more to do with you than those two players?

Hard to say...

Baldwin was a freakbeast from a physical standpoint. His combine numbers were the stuff of legend.

To take a guy like that and hope you can turn him into an All-Pro with proper coaching is not so far fetched. It's more of a reality than taking a slow, short dude and making that an All-Pro.

It's hard to determine at draft time whether or not you've got J.J. Watt or Vernon Gholston. Whether or not you have Calvin Johnson or Jon Baldwin. Sometimes it's hard to determine at that point in time, especially when guys are still on the board that you didn't think were going to be there and didn't fully analyze prior to the draft. (At least Dorsey does his homework on about everyone and tries to tie that into the objectivity of the Decision Lens system.)

Add to that that Bowe was in a contract year...

I don't mind the Baldwin pick. I do mind that the guy had no drive/love/passion for the game despite the prodigious physical tools after the fact.

Anything is possible, though it's hard to imagine why anyone would have a problem with my insightful insightfulness.

I'm a pretty likable guy. Smart, good looking, humble.

Nah, I think it comes down to everyone else just being the same dipshits they always are.

I'm more of an attaboy or not good guy.

That being said, I believe he gets an attaboy here.

It's more to those who criticize everything Dorsey does. There is a plan for everything. Yeah, I didn't like the lack of turning over the receiving corps. But there is clearly a plan to build the roster for the long term. While it doesn't placate to the instant gratification crowd, it sets up beautifully a sustained run of success for the chiefs. Beautiful.

Except that Baldwin was noted for being the king of prima donnas, and even with the benefit of good coaching in college never improved even remotely. Even in terms of his conditioning, he got credit for loving to work out even though he hated practicing with the team.

He should have never been drafted. Terrible draft pick.

Baldwin could have been anything he wanted, he chose to be a scrub.
