As for his working skill sets; I'll leave that up to far more qualified individuals to assess. I do not happen to think he is a "slam dunk" player like many here happen to think he is. But thats because I think many here have incredibly unrealistic expectations. Against ranked quality opponents, he comes up average statistically. There is no crazy breakout game that puts me in awe of his abilities when it comes to playing other quality teams. Against sub par teams, hes great...against decent teams, hes remarkably average.

So you're calling out others' ability to evaluate QBs, but you don't have any actual stance on why they are wrong? That's brilliant. gtfo douchebag

I do not recall specifying my argument. I'll leave that evaluation up to actual NFL scouts...not some wannabe poster on Chiefsplanet.com who has over 20,000 posts...

Nobody here would be sad if we ended up with Barkley or even Wilson...we just prefer Geno to all the alternatives and it isnt even close.

That's cool. I would be satisfied if we ended up with Geno. Obviously taking a QB in the first round is totally necessary. We'll just have to wait and see...

This is pretty close to the way I see Smith & Barkley right now. Wilson has yet to really impress me.

Either way, I want the best QB available when we pick or a trade to go get the overall #1.

If you had watched the kid play, you would be jumping for joy if we find a way to draft him.

IMO he is every bit the prospect that RG3 was.

You clearly believe that you know something that the rest of us rubes don't. Yet you haven't given anything to support that opinion. In fact, based on what you've posted so far, I'm not even sure you've seen the guy play. your first comment on the subject was something about what you "heard".

You want to disagree with the popular opinion around here on Geno Smith, that's fine. But at least have something to back it up.

And you may want to read around the internet a little about Smith. You may find that us dumbass fans aren't the only ones getting the wool pulled over their eyes with this Geno Smith illusion.

BossChief 10-14-2012 11:20 PM

There were probably 10 of us championing Geno as the top QB in the 2013 class when he was on scouting sites as a 2nd and 3rd rounder.

Truth

I only remember one guy talking about him before this season.

By the time the guy wins the Heisman, there'll be over 50 people here claiming they knew he was going to be better than Barkley two years ago.

BossChief 10-14-2012 11:32 PM

I use "us" a lot when talking about Planeteers...I obviously wasnt one of the guys heading up anything regarding Geno.

DJ, Sac and SNR come to mind as 3 guys that were WAYYYY ahead of the curve and talked about him as being a better prospect to Barkley well before anyone else.

As soon as I read SNR (who I agree with quite a bit) championing him, I did some research and jumped on the bandwagon.

Phobia 10-14-2012 11:39 PM

I was pimping Geno as QBOTF when he was a freshman.

tk13 10-14-2012 11:40 PM

You're crazy, I was on the Geno bandwagon way before that.

Yeah guys, I know that Trent played really well today. Totally agree. That pass to Kennison was amazing. I'm telling you though, there's this 13 year old kid in Florida. His name is Geno Smith. I think we really need to keep an eye on him down the road in the draft. He's way better than than that 13 year old kid named Barkley in California.
