It really does. I've had Hamas on ignore for 3 years. I just took him off recently because it seems like he's mellowed tremendously since becoming a father. In fact, I've rather enjoyed several of his contributions to the board.

Wait a minute... is Crazy Coffee one of those guys you think needs to be protected from smart people?

You think the original permaban was because Hootie shared a secret of CC's?

Where's the "Meh" option?

Agreed on that one. I liked the new Hamas while he lasted.

BTW Pat, he didn't beg to come back. I did that all on my own.

Is this a ****ing joke? Your job is to keep the peace, and I assumed they would welcome the option to never have to see his posts ever again unless someone quoted them by IGNORING them. That's the worst excuse I've EVER heard. This is favoritism at its purest.

i used to be against it on some kind of false principle...

then i realized it removed aggravations from sight in .0001 seconds and life went on as normal...i'd carefully suggest that people who don't use the ignore button want the drama...

We need all the details!

Spare us the details!

Can't make everyone happy... or anyone, I guess. Maybe a poll with the percentage of information needed from the mods would be good for future reference.

Let us see the screen shots from the mod forum! woot! IDGAF if hootie got banned, or why. its just that the mods here are fueling these ****ing hootie threads. THATS HILARIOUS! just lock this and gochiefs thread and the pain is over.

Yeah. I've been here over 6 years, and I've never seen anyone say anything close to what was said to earn the ban. Saying it was way over the line doesn't do it justice, IMO.

It was because hootie threw salt in his wounds. It was pretty grotesque (CC filled me in on the details), but it wasn't perma-ban worthy by any stretch.

Do you think maybe I should have checked into using that special feature at this BW3 since my instructions were to specifically avoid that bartender?

Bullshit. That ignore option goes both ways. You have no argument or way to spin this. I call favoritism.

Sorry, then you got a watered down version of what happened from CC, or you're a really sick ****.

And on a side note, why the **** would CC confide in you?

doomy3 01-15-2012 09:07 PM

I guess I just don't see why it's OK for people to post all kinds of personal shit about Badgirl and countless others, but CC or whoever else is out of bounds. I think it should all be out of bounds personally, but why is it OK when it's a pile on, but when it's one member going at another member, suddenly it is off limits?

BTW, I have probably interacted with Hootie less than 10 times. Ultimately, I don't care at all about him. I do think he brings some entertainment to this board and isn't close to being the worst poster on this board, but it isn't as if I have some kind of close friendship with him or something.

That's not even true. He wasn't even banned for stepping over the line. Those posts got scrubbed IMMEDIATELY. I was on them just as fast as he posted them.

He got banned because I told him that it was inappropriate and that he was not to ever post about the stuff CC shared with him again or he would be permabanned. Then he went and did it anyway - with a clear understanding he would be permabanned. Yes, let's all shed some tears for Hootie. He never does anything wrong.

Was it worse than making fun of someone who was dying of cancer and mocking their death?
