Oh, I wasn't aware that this thread was about bowl game slotting and nothing else. But to be honest, I did not know that politics didn't come into play in the rest of the conferences and I'm very surprised to hear that they don't. With that said, I don't see what the big deal is that one team whose fans travel better might get the nod over one that doesn't. IMO NU fans have earned it.

Some people believe in merit based systems and some don't. I think the better team should be rewarded, and you don't. It is just a difference of opinion.

Now you sound like a beaker. **** the fans. The better team should go to the better bowl game. PERIOD.

Imagine if NC would have been allowed in the big dance last season, and given a 3 seed to boot. I mean, they deserved it because of their great tradition and everything. Who cares that their team wasn't worthy of making the tournament?

If Mizzou was so much better, why did they lose to a KU team that NU beat?

Give me a ****ing break. We beat you at home by 35 points AND had a better record.

Maybe the official timekeeper in last year's championship game thought Texas traveled better than Nebraska. Is that okay with you?

Two years you got picked ahead of MU for the Gator Bowl even though Mizzou beat you in Lincoln something like 55-10, MU finished with a better conference record, and a better overall record.

Whoops, this statement is actually false as well, NU and MU both went 5-3 in conference in 2008. Maybe this isn't the thread for you beer bacon.

Regardless, we had the tiebreaker with the win in the head to head matchup and we had a better overall record.

Apparently getting beat by 35 points at home by a conference rival doesn't count in Nebraska. :spock:

DO OVER! DO OVER!

As I pointed out, conference records were the same. And as far as non-conference, did MU play any teams that went to BCS games?

Basically what you guys are saying is that MU should've got the bid simply because they beat NU to open conference play, nevermind the fact that MU stumbled at the end of the regular season while NU finished strong.

Fine, change it to Missouri finished ahead of Nebraska in conference play. It amounts to the same thing.

So... The Big 12 becomes the Big 10?
:doh!:

MU beat Nebraska in a blowout in Lincoln. finished with a better record, and finished ahead of Nebraska in conference. Are you disputing any of this?
