You have to wonder how behind the curve Pioli really was with preparing for the Chiefs draft considering how slow Clark Hunt's process was in hiring him and leaving the decision to fire Herm for Pioli to decide on and carry out.

Pioli was in huge demand after their last SB he just decided to stay.

GREAT way to start the new regime!

1. Hire a shitty coaching staff. Check.

2. Trade for a "One year wonder" QB and LB who CLEARLY doesn't want to end his career on a shitty team. Check.

3. Trade a Hall of Famer for a pick next year. Check.

4. Cut a 4th round WR BEFORE mini-camp. Check.

5. Draft a non impact player with the 3rd overall pick. Check.

6. Alienate one of your only Pro Bowl players. Check.

These guys have done more damage in one off-season than Herm did in three.
