Yeah he let Carr go, because he was smart enough to know you don't pay your #2 CB more than your #1. Other than that he did a great job of retaining guys like Charles, DJ, Hali, and Flowers. Just because we had the cap space, doesn't make it OK to throw out stupid contracts to a player that wanted to go play for his favorite team anyways.

Just because his role is reduced greatly, doesn't mean he isn't doing anything anymore. Most GM's don't have the kind of power he had, unless they also owned the team like Jerry Jones.

Clark Hunt will be more involved, as will the HC. It wont be Don Pioli anymore, just GM. It would be pretty similar to his role with Bill in NE when they won three Super Bowls together.

Pretty good at the GM job? LOL WUT?

My radio guy has been pretty much with his info so far so take it for what its worth.......... he says Pioli's nuts are cut off. He's on these interviews for chemistry only. This hire is Clark's and Clark's alone.

However, when I start paying my money for the product, a product severely negatively affected by Scott, I'm gonna voice an opinion, while not spending any money.

I always laugh when people make that statements and it goes on here a lot.

No problem if you feel that way, just don't expect the guy writing that $7.5MM or whatever it is check to have the same "who gives a ****" attitude you do. That's reeruned.

Your rep would certainly be a different color :)

Yeah, this is reeruned. Pioli is the guy that has the team knowledge. He's not going ANYWHERE until someone is hired, and the fact that anyone is even concerned about it is stupid. Prospective coaches are going to have questions, and he's literally the only guy in the building that can answer them.

What about Joel Collier who is the Assistant GM?

Of course. I mean, who else could possibly decipher the riddle of KC's QB position? Imagine if Reid asked why that was such an abortion...What could Clark say?

I know what I'd say: "Pioli."

(Everyone silently nods their head.)

That might, in all of the bullshit on this board, be the most hilarious post of the entire 2012 season.

Pioli is pretty good at the GM job.

You know why everyone hates him? Because his ****ing teams finished last 3 out of 4 years. He can't find a QB or a coach and he can't draft for shit.

But yeah, we all hate him because he's an asshole.

If he won, found a QB, I don't care if he told my mother to **** herself with a broom handle and he mooned my grandmother.

Sweet ****ing christ.

It most certainly is not my money. But as a public figure who owns a public franchise that has it's own fans, he isn't above being ridiculed for it.

Yeah, that was a money deal. Haley's ego got in the way of Weis staying. Haley was bitting off more than he could chew as was Pioli. The problem with the Chiefs lately has been Ego's.. something that Clark is fixing.

Pioli was in charge of football operations. No doubt. But he didn't hold the golden key to this super-secret, ultra-elaborate operation that only he could understand, despite the fact that he tried to run things like this was the case.

If he's not there and a person like Farmer is, the interview goes just as smoothly as any interview for an organization trying to find a GM.

If I'm overstating his role in the day to day ops, you could very easily be overstating his role in the interview.

Like I said, I've had several people in the room during interviews that I don't turn to for their opinion on a hire. Those people are there for informational purposes. Its not dissimilar from a standard ol' business deal - I want people in the room that can answer questions before I ultimately make a decision.

He was there - that's all we know. That, in a vacuum, means absolutely nothing. If I'm Clark and I've chosen this route, then I'd have had him in there as well. If nothing else, an extra voice will often get me to look at a different angle or provide an idea for an additional question/comment.

Don't panic just yet. There will be plenty of time for that later.

C'mon, man.

We've heard stories for 4 years about how Pioli literally runs the Chiefs, down to the amount of copies made, the type of coffee, the access the media has to the pisser.

Do you honestly think Joel Collier or Ray Farmer have any ****ing stick around that place?

Actually, I haven't gotten any negative in here.

Never said he doesn't deserve criticism dude, I am just simply saying if he owes Pioli a shit ton of $, that would be his fault, but it would also play a roll in all this.

Everyone expects Pioli should have been fired 2 days ago not knowing anything about his buy out or the legal situation with the law suits and how that effects things.
