I asked Pelini what he thought of our 3rd round tourney game outdrawing viewership of Nebraska's bowl game. No response yet, he's still mulling that one over.

Yes the BCS NCG was number one but there are two college basketball games before you hit the 2nd most watched college football game. It's an even split. Amazing how so many on this board don't get it.

The 50 Most-Watched Sporting Events of 2013

* Note: List does not include Tuesday’s (Dec. 31) bowl games. As the Peach Bowl is typically a strong performer, it may do well enough to crack the top 50.

Hmmm.... not a single CBB regular season game on the list. Clearly CFB is King of the NCAA.

Bambi 01-02-2014 11:52 AM

People sure watched a lot of ****ing Michigan last year.

I thought the entire college football season was a de facto playoff.

Or you're choosing to not spout that this week?

Probably explains why they have the biggest apparel contract in the nation per my link.

Those are KU students celebrating their first conference win since Nov 2010.

What if things had gone differently?

What if Mizzou and aTm had stayed in the Big 12? What if the SEC, instead of taking aTm and Mizzou in order to expand their footprint and get into Texas, had taken West Virginia and TCU? Would the Big 12 be the best football conference of 2013?

Mizzou
aTm
Baylor
Oklahoma State
Oklahoma
Tech
KSU
Texas
Iowa State
Kansas

Vs

Auburn
Alabama
South Carolina
LSU
Georgia
Vanderbilt
Tennessee
Kentucky
Ole Miss
MSU
Florida
Arkansas
TCU
WVU

I give the nod to the Big 12 there...

There is one major sport in total revenue, and it's football. Football drove realignment for that reason.

Sure, basketball is more important than any non-football sport, but it's obviously secondary.

I guess that settles it. Mizzou football > Kansas basketball.

.

Both statements are factually incorrect.

Colorado, Maryland, and Syracuse are football schools? Wasn't the Big East movement all basketball related?
