Yes it disturbs everyone but with the knowledge there was likely a extension, things are very tricky for Hunt in trying to get rid of Pioli. We have to be patient and see if the new coach would even wants Pioli. If the new coach doesn't, then it is a easy decision for Clark and he does what he has to do.
It was brought up that there was a possibility that Reid himself had a little interview for Pioli today. It just isn't the Chiefs that have to see if Pioli is compatible for the future with the new set-up but if Pioli could handle what the new coach wants. |

The guy tried to can me 3 or 4 times over the last 5 years. Fortunately I'm pretty damn good at this, so our founding partner vetoed him each time. We had a coup about 6 months ago and ousted the asshole from his director's position...but couldn't get the BDIC to fire him outright (they've developed that Clark/Pioli level of trust between them). So he was 're-assigned' to a nominal role an ostensibly stripped of all authority...for about 4 months. He's still here and he's slowly working his way back into an officer role. He'll continue to try to consolidate power within departments and increase his turf. He will always be slowly working his way back into authority - it's who he is. I've moved up high enough in the world that he can't touch me now; as a Partner I'm technically his boss now. That said, that's the only reason I don't worry about him and the people in Arrowhead won't have that privilege. Anyone that has ever worked for/with someone like Scott Pioli knows exactly how this will go with him. He cannot be allowed to remain with the Chiefs in any capacity. His sole goal in life will be to subvert, undermine and attempt to work his way back into authority using every bit of personal pull he has with Clark. He'll lie, cajole and manipulate until he's close enough to where he was as to make no difference. People that know men like this know better. I cannot root for this franchise with Scott Pioli involved in it. I just cannot. |

Do you think Clark was really contemplating bringing Herm back in 2009? Jesus Christ, even one of Pioli's favorite nut-huggers, Jason LaCanfora is saying that if Reid is hired, Pioli is OUT. The new HC is either going to say he can work with Pioli (ridiculously ****ing unlikely) or he's going to say he can't work with Pioli. At that point, Clark will either eat the buyout money and fire Scott immediately, or he'll strip him of all responsibility until an agreement is reached. And if by some "getting struck by lightning twice AND winning the lottery on the same day" scenario plays out that the new HC is willing to work with Pioli, then make a decision. After all, it's your choice to be a fan. But I'm not making a choice until SOMETHING ACTUALLY HAPPENS. |

I am on the fence to see what Clark is up too.

EDIT: People yesterday were having a pretty good conversation, they certainly weren't "hand wringing" as you called it - IMO. These folks today are going DefCon 5 because of reports Pioli is in the room - having no ****ing clue why he's there or if he's even involved. But if I offended you, I apologize. |

So then I take it your ok if Pioli stays as long as he doesn't have personnel control? |
