While I agree that ESPN does a decent job of getting exposure to the world of poker, the WSOP is a joke nowadays. It is the reason that I make money playing poker. I would love to play the main event just to say I did. But the stuff they show on TV is awful. ESPN shows about 1 percent of the whole tourney. The hands that are shown on tv is very a-typical of how most hands go.

One thing I find hard to believe is that someone who plays well online automatically does well in the circuit. Playing online vs live is totally different.

Surely you remember me pinching sedated's ass while he was playing darts. He wanted me to stop, so I moved on to what's-his-name. Would you believe I would never have known any of that had happened if I didn't have pictures of it on my camera?

Online qualifiers do decent because they are very unpredictable. They play anything and everything. One of the reasons that a pro will never win a main event again. Jamie Gold is a prime example. Gold will not even make it past the first day this year. But take Greg Raymer, dude honed his skill at a local casino, played in the main event for several years and then won the big one. The following year finished in the top 25. He is why I started to play poker.

CHIEF4EVER 03-03-2007 04:17 AM

Come on 6:30! Scouser Scum vs Manchester United on Setanta.

Jamie Gold won the 2006. He's been mentored by that guy that won it back-to-back in the 80's. Jackie somebody.

Johnny Chan took him under his wing during the tourney. But that is very common. Gold won't get any help this year from anybody.

Yes. One of the biggest matches of the year in the EPL at 6:30. The ' Oakland Raiders of England' i.e. rat eating, hubcap stealing thugass Liverpool vs my boys of Manchester United.

Johnny. That was it. I was thinking I was wrong in remembering the last name as Chan. I liked the guys who came in second and third.
