Green Bay is going to have a rough time I think, seems to me that their one path to victory is to jump out on SF and make Garoppolo actually throw them back into a game... if it’s close at the end I’ll take GB.

It's also worth noting that Mahomes had maybe his best 'feel' in the pocket Sunday of any game I've ever seen from him.
After those quirks coming off his injury that sort of apexed in the NE game (the backpedaling and bailouts from phantom pressure), he got a lot better against Denver and then just continued from there. On Sunday he was a maestro. He seemed to be playing with a Madden birds-eye view because he ALWAYS seemed to know where the pressure was coming from and exactly how far he needed to move to avoid it. And more critically, to help his OL out. ****ing hell he was good on Sunday. Y'know what? Scrap every single bit of analysis in this entire thread. If Patrick Mahomes plays with the complete command of everything happening on that field that he played with on Sunday, you can take the NFL All-Time 100 team in their primes and he'd !@#$ing beat 'em. He was simply stunning last weekend and if he plays like that again this Sunday, woe be the Titans, no matter how well they play. This will be that kind of peak Federer/Woods shit where you can play the best game of your life and if he brings his A game to the party, you're just getting blown off the map either way. |

I know DJ's last post said no real analysis was needed... but here's some analysis.
The Titans are really efficient in the red zone. Awesome is a fair descriptor. But what does that mean for KC's game with them on Sunday? I thought it would be interesting to compare the Chiefs' red zone success since the bye - when Mahomes' ankle finally was mostly healed and he started becoming a threat with his legs again, which coincided with an uptick in red zone efficiency - with the Titans since Tannehill became the QB1. Here's what I've got: Red Zone TD percentage: 71 percent (would rank second in league over whole season) Red Zone possessions/game: 4.8 Points/Red Zone possession: 6.5 4/6 teams the Chiefs played had a better red zone D than the Titans. (Texans and Raiders). KC scored TDs on 11/13 of those plays with its only empty red zone possession since the bye being a failed run on 4th and 1 against Oakland. The Titans are dynamite in the red zone with Tannehill - they converted 83 percent of red zone possessions into TDs, which is excellent. They also turn it over in the red zone more than KC - 4 RZ turnovers in this stretch to 1 for KC. That means their points/red zone possession is actually lower than KC’s (it’s 6.0 in this stretch). And they also don’t GET THERE as often as KC. 2.8 red zone touches/game with Tannehill as QB. 2 fewer per game. We can talk about their efficiency in the red zone all we want. But at the end of the day, recent trends show KC getting 31 PPG from red zone possessions versus 17 for the Titans. And have we even talked about Tannehill’s higher likelihood for turnovers and sacks? Tannehill has been sacked 2.5 times a game and turned the ball over 1.2 times a game. He’s sacked on 10 percent of his pass attempts, throws an INT on 2 percent, and fumbles on 2 percent. Compare that to Mahomes, who was sacked just 3.4 percent of the time (hobbled from weeks 1-12 and playing behind a makeshift OL), throws an INT on 1 percent of drop backs and fumbles 0.4 percent of the time. So Tannehill is sacked 3x as much and turns it over 3x as much as Mahomes. |

I think he is feeling good and is very motivated. What he did on the sideline was even more impressive. He got those guys pumped up and turned the game around. |

But I wouldn’t get too excited about that Texans game. Houston defense is horrible. They allowed Drew Lock to absolutely torch them in a game the Texans needed to win. |

Titans fans sure are cocky.

Overreacting and attempting to injure this QB will backfire horrendously. This QB is too good. |

He should’ve made more adjustments, but it wouldn’t have mattered. |
I’m watching Vrabel’s presser right now. He’s an easy guy to like.

Hill was targeted 19 times and caught 11 of them the first game. Have a feeling he'll be the main weapon this go around.

I’ll predict a big game from DRob. He’s auditioning for a contract and was trash last game.
He’s better than that. We’ve seen great games out of him before. |

You can't underestimate Tannehill. Dude has been balling lately.

**** Mike Vrabel. |

I mean I'll give him props, he's got spirit and grit but he's been completely pedestrian his last 3 games. What have his numbers been, under 100 yards every game or something? |
Vrabel got shit faced and tried to steal like hundreds of dollars of chips at one of the casinos. NEVAR FORGIT

This has probably been mentioned already, but our offensive line was in rough shape that game. Fisher and LDT were out. Rankin blew out his knee in that game. Schwartz was injured at one point but returned.
Mahomes still had one of his better games of the year against that Titans secondary. |

Will be interesting to see how often Andy has Pat operating from the shotgun to avoid this. |
Does anyone else kind of get a "everyone is talking about this being such a good game and it ends up being a blowout kind of feeling"? Like the Titans are kinda swimming way above their head and had some really good matchups where shit just went their way and they won kinda thing?
Maybe i'm way off. |
Listening to 810 and I had forgotten about the Tits punching the ball out of Williams hands and scoring... They like to try to cause turnovers that way.. Ball security will be key Sunday..

I subscribe to the belief that forcing Tannehill to do more than he's been asked of is our best chance to win this one. |

The Titans only hit Pat 4 times and managed 2 sacks against our patchwork OL. That was even without Schwartz for part of the game. Pat was also just coming back from injury and still a step slow. Their pass rush didn’t disrupt us much before when our OL was in MUCH worse shape. |

So yes, ball security is extremely important. I sure hope the Texans game was a wakeup call in that regard. |

He CAN make some good downfield passes. And frankly, he's gonna have to. The Titans aren't going to win this game on 200 yards from Henry unless it's 200 yards via 40 yard chunks that go for scores. The Titans team we've seen of late and their 'winning formula' of incredibly inefficient offense just won't do it against this team. They're going to have to get Tannehill involved and he's gonna have to play as well as he's ever played. If we lose this game, we'll call it the "Tannehill game" or the "AJ Brown Game". We aren't going to lose this game because of Derrick Henry. |

Our OL needs to take their game to the next level BIG TIME if we are to win it all IMHO. |
Kinda feels like the Colts game last year to me.
I think people might be underrating that the Titans are traveling for their 4th straight must win game against a Division Champ. Their defense just played like 90 plays against Baltimore. It’s one game and anything can happen, but the Chiefs should feel much more fresh in this one. Just will just be our third home game in 4 weeks. We also had a really late bye week. |

Pat has been thinking about this moment for a year and he’s determined to carry this team if he has to, just like Sunday. The kid is locked in and this time he’s got Spags, Honey Badger and Clark on the other side to lead the defense and support him. This team just capped off its worst quarter of the season with 3 quarters of by far their absolute best football of the season. I have not seen this team play together in as complete of a game in any time I can remember in the Andy Reid era. There is no way in hell we are losing this weekend. I don’t give a shit if the Titans are on a win streak. The last 3 quarters last Sunday was the best and most complete game I have ever seen a Chiefs team play. It just feels like the Titans are walking into a gigantic buzzsaw against a stadium full of fans and players that are ready to take out so much frustration on them. I will be shocked if this is not a double-digit win for the Chiefs. |

The Titans first half drives in the first game.
1. Ended in a sack fumble by Jones. 2. 6 plays, punt 3. 4 plays, TD. First play was a 56 yard deep pass that got them in the red zone. Then the KC fumble for a TD happened. 4. 5 plays, punt. Second half. 1. 4 plays, punt. 2. 2 plays, TD. The Henry long TD run. 3. 6 plays, punt. 4. 10 plays, TD. 5. 5 plays, turnover on downs. 6. 4 plays, TD. Game winning drive. |
I really hope that game last weekend will get them focused. There have been quite a few games this season where it felt like the team just kept shooting themselves in the foot. Texans game is the most obvious example, but the Titans loss is another example. Need to eliminate the silly mistakes. If they can do that, they run the table in convincing fashion.

Jones (calf), McCoy (illness) and Moore (illness) will not practice today.

Is McCoy’s illness from not being able to touch the ball?

The only thing I know is that if Tennessee goes into Gillette, M&T, and Arrowhead and wins all 3 of those games, they deserve to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl because that's a pretty amazing accomplishment.
That said, I think their end has come because KC will torch them Sunday. |
Can we all agree to not be a bunch of pussies if the Chiefs aren’t up 35-0 at the end of the first quarter?
|
Jones or no Jones, I feel like they’ve gotta outscore KC to beat them. As long as we execute from the kick, KC puts up 31+...
