I used to think this same thing, but I've been rebuffed a few times by those who organized SOC. While he had nothing to do with its formation, he did bring attention to the movement, which definitely served a role for the movement's overall success.

So I dunno what kind of bubble you live in where everyone is an Alex Smith homer, but it doesn't hold water where I am from.

Smith has done a lot as far as coming in and stabilizing this team at the QB position that was a shit show for a long time, but in my opinion should never have been more than a stop gap, and I'd like to move on.
