Stop this shit. It's very likely that they've got a root cause analysis tree for realized risks that has "sabotage" as one of its branches. As all the other possible root causes get crossed off the list, you've got to take a serious look at it at some point.
I HIGHLY doubt this is sabotage. |

They've got a long way to go, but I think I'd take a vacation to Florida to try and watch that thing launch.

About time. Thanks DaFace.

Related to this thread, apparently the Russians lost their ISS-bound resupply mission today. It's not been a good couple of years for ISS missions. :(

That article doesn't say anything about lost lives so this was an unmanned resupply ship? |

Well, now they're saying early January. Oh well.

OK, let's try this again. From the official account this time.

So when do we start terraforming Mars?

It's been ages since they've launched from the west coast. Seems weird these days not to have the lightning towers in the shot. |
Here's hoping that they don't pump diesel into the unleaded tank again.

HOLY SHIT!!! That was awesome!!!

That was a bad ass landing. Too cool.
|
I could watch this kind of stuff every day!
|
2nd burn done, ~5 min from Sat deployments.
|
So the only "failure" was the link to the ground station that would allow is to watch the satellites being deployed.. And I thought they said they were going to be able to show tape of it that the 2nd stage's camera records. That didn't seem to happen.
But hey, that's cool no matter what! |
|
Did it look to have a bit of a lean to anyone else?

Just now watching the webcast. Man...that was some BEAUTIFUL footage of the first stage coming back. I love that stuff.

Just awesome.

Wonder if they fly the same crew that's been doing the work on the east coast out to California to process this one. |

We finally have a static launch on the new pad (39A), so I think we shouldn't have anything but the usual delays at this point. Countdown and header are active again.

It's pretty crazy to compare the amount of "stuff" there is on that pad compared to the shots of the last launch from Vandy. |

As I said before, it just looks plain bizarre to have so much "stuff" on that pad compared to everything they've done before.
|
Really, as I think about it, it's modern (unmanned) rockets that are the outlier. Growing up, I was pretty used to every launch being on a big, complicated complex like 39A. It's just that lately we've gotten used to launch pads being pretty streamlined and minimalist.
|
SpaceX stream is up (though not actually started yet).

As is their technical webcast. No "announcers", but awesome to hear the comms and see different angles. I usually keep both up.

I'll watch this one from my balcony. See how my dogs react to the Sonic Boom.
