This dude's NFL.com draft profile says he's going to be a "plus starter"
Damn |

His floor is a rock solid WR3 firmly behind Rice and Worthy. |
I really really like this pick! Can't believe we got him where we did.

Chiefs see Jalen Royals as a wide receiver who can ‘run right through you’ Kansas City’s fourth round pick and area scout discussed the selection on Saturday. |

Rice - 4.51 but with a 1.49 Ten Yard Split Worthy - 4.21 - 1.49 Brown - 4.27 - N/A Royals - 4.39 - 1.40 I don't know about Rice's top end speed, because we really haven't had a chance to see it, but he is explosive AF initially, and the rest of these guys match that, but are also faster. |

After sleeping on it, I love this pick even more.
He has true X potential in this offense. Jeremy Maclin. Sammy Watkins if he could stay healthy and was less insane. |
Unrelated and hilarious side note:
The Chiefs' selection of Royals led to Bills fans melting down about what a good draft the Chiefs were having, what an insane value Royals was, and how stupid their GM is. If he's as good as we think he is going to be, that's just another dagger with them. You hate to see it, but mostly, you love to see it. |
“After transferring, Royals didn't record a single stat in 2022 but broke out in 2023 with a 71-grab, 1,080-yard, 15-touchdown season for Utah State. He was arguably its lone standout player during a 6-7 season where three different quarterbacks played. Royals could have left school via the transfer portal after 2023 but stayed loyal to Utah State after it committed to him when no one else would.”
