But it’s over. He is not a serious threat any longer and he’s not getting back to his old self; once you go physically soft as a player- you don’t get hard again. I hope he makes the right decision and hangs it up.

Pruning helps trees grow, and his retirement will hurt in the short term- but will force the offense to develop new plays and players, and broaden Mahomes’ vision.

Yep, dude is simply not worth the cap hit anymore. He's not inspiring anyone either, that much is clear.

If he doesn't hang it up, the Chiefs need to add some void years to his deal and just be willing to kick the can down the road to lower his cap hit, because you're not winning shit with him taking up ~$20 million of your cap for 5 catches and 35 yards a game.

I personally would like to thank him for the many many years of being awesome, but I agree that at this point he has a tough decision to make. I support him either way, but if he stays "for the love of the game" I pray he loves the game enough to restructure his contract to allow for the team to fix all the things that made last night what it was.

Dream scenario: Taylor pays millions to pay for anti aging treatments for her boyfriend. Stem cells, cyborg implants etc. He plays for three more years and we get the three peat.

Sorry I meant to thumbs up

Jared Allen and Travis would have make a great dynamic duo had their paths intercepted.

Travis has been domesticated and it's not hard to see to an observing eye.

He was underpaid for a long time which helped Veach spend more on other areas of the roster. I'm cool with him coming back one more year and getting the $20 million even if he be more of a role player.

Kelce dropped the pass early on yesterday that he caught in the AFCCG against the Ravens.

Both tough catches, both in traffic, and against the Ravens, it converted a fourth down that led to us getting a critical 7-0 lead.

Last year, his regular season production was down but he turned it on when we got deep in the playoffs. That didn’t happen this year. If he comes back, my hope it would be that he’d come back sharp and do one last victory lap before going into the sunset.

He can do whatever he wants and I'll be happy. Just saying if he retires I hope he makes his final decision before free agency begins. We have some big decisions to make and I believe he's the highest paid TE in the league.

They need to make him understand and cut and save the money. That's best for the team.

$3m.

But he's not retiring.

And you guys act like he's washed. Dude caught 97 ****ing balls this year, with 5 different LT's and WR1 AND WR2 missing for the majority of the season.

You know where a kid in the draft capable of the 2024 Kelce season would go?

First round.

He's not washed, but he's not the same player statistically. He has steadily declined in output since the 2022 season. That could be for a variety of reasons, including the offense in general not playing well since that year. However, Veach needs to draft his replacement soon. Because Travis will probably come back for the next super bowl run and then call it quits and then we are left with nothing at TE.

We have Gray and drafted Wiley, who missed the bulk of the season with an ACL but will be back.

If you draft a guy high, he'll be TE4 for at least a year. Does that seem smart?
