I don't really care.

I mean, I'm curious. I have some ideas of what I'd like.

But I have no doubt that Veach has a plan, and will make good choices.

There's not a position he could select other than a QB in the first where I'd say, " what the hell are you doing?"

Nice to be here.

I mean, no K, P, or LS, but I get your point.

What else are you thinking?

The Chiefs don’t have a single running back on the roster that has ever been healthy for 16 games in season and their best RB has 1,200 yards and 12 TD’s in 6 seasons.

They lack depth at IOL, CB, S, RB, DE and WR.

They have lots of issues but none greater than the RB position.

I feel this I really do (Dobbins is my hopeful pick) but I do also think that Damien Williams isn’t getting enough love around here for his contributions that he’s provided when he’s been healthy.

Ever since he took over for Kareem, his numbers have not been that far off from Hunt on a per game basis. Outside of the beginning/middle of this season (injury), Williams has performed pretty damn well and especially in the playoffs.

I think the team believes in him and he’s proven it on the biggest stages too so idk how eager Veach is to throw higher cost resources at the position as opposed to treating it much more efficiently like he has and essentially go with the lottery ticket candidates (Damien, McCoy, Hyde, Deangelo, etc.) since he knows that Reid and Mahomes can at least manufacture a semblance of a running game with a much cheaper price.

It just doesn’t make sense to spend a 1st on a position that you could likely get similar production for from someone in 3rd-5th round. I think Veach goes with veteran guys looking to redeem themselves like Theo Riddick, Chris Thompson, CJ Procise, etc. There’s just too many other positions to address with very limited draft capital as is.

In terms of depth, or lack there of, depends on the development of players like Rankin, Allegretti, Thompson, Fenton, Pringle, Harris, Speaks, O’Daniel, Watts, etc.

They also talked up rookie free agent DE Tim Ward that was hurt.

I would prefer a really good safety over a linebacker. Linebackers just seem cheap in Spags system. And in the second half of games it usually always comes down to the pass rush of the DL and secondary. With that said I think we need a RB to grind with D Will and take pressure off Mahomes in the first (Swift, Taylor, Dobbins) and S in the second, LB in the 3rd, and OL in the 4th. Of course BPA in most any case.

Yep. I was listing guys that have at least showed something. Guys like Ward, Elijah McGuire, Alize Mack, Greg Senat all have been rumored potential players KC likes.

After watching Shady fall out of favor with the Chiefs down the stretch, I'm not sure Taylor would be on the radar with his fumbling issues either. Article also says he struggles as a receiver and blocker.

RB Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
Another player who might have been best fit for a bygone era, Taylor is the kind of bell-cow back no longer heavily prized. At 5-10 and 226 pounds with breakaway speed (4.39-second 40-yard dash) and great instincts, he's an accomplished ball-carrier who finished sixth all-time in rushing for the Football Bowl Subdivision. It's the passing game, however, that could trip Taylor up, as he struggled at times as a receiver and didn't do much as a blocker. Pervasive fumbling issues (18 in 41 career games) also could put him out of favor with his next head coach. So long as he can remain healthy after tallying 968 touches in three years, Taylor will have the chance to prove himself as a dependable back at the next level, but his biggest challenge will be becoming a complete one.

There’s a lot of smoke that Kristian Fulton is going to fall a bit on draft day. If he makes it to 32, I’d take him with no hesitation.

I kinda wonder if he has a greedy Williams like fall into the 2nd round

I think the rb from lsu is the best fit for this offense with the way he catches it. He’s perfect for the screen game

That would be foolish IMO. He’s a better prospect, with better character, and he’s tough. It’s pretty obvious he played hurt for much of 2019.

staylor26 04-11-2020 10:07 AM

The guy gets knocked for athleticism but ran a 4.46 40 and a 6.94 3 cone. Makes no sense.

Depends. I haven’t followed it very close this year but there was some talk about his effort or lack there of last I read. I doubt he falls that far but who knows

Serious question, doesn’t every college back struggle with blocking when they come to the NFL?
