Wonder if he sign with us so he can play against his old team the rams and bills.
|
Watkins has a chance to have a huge year with Mahomes willingness to launch the ball.
|
It's a ton of money but love a 3-year contract and not the usual 5 years. A lot of WRs' prime is right at 25-27 years old so that's perfect.

Wow that's a lot of money for him. Not sure this is the best use of the salary cap. Time will tell.
|
Watkins probably also thinks the deal can set him up, yes he gets a lot now but he'll also hit FA again at 27 after possibly having huge years with a big armed QB.
Seems like a deal that benefits the team and the player. |

Choking a coach got him shipped out of Washington...and Kansas City. 3 years and he wore out his welcome in both places. You MUST be taking crazy pills if you don't understand why Peters is gone. They gave money to Sammy Watkins, a player that doesn't slap his mom in front of NFL Security and actually wants to play in KC. Go figure. |

We have a QB now to use these toys...

Let's remember there are guys in the draft this year that are the same age as Watkins. |
$16m is a bit much. But they want to surround mahomes with talent so I'm good with it. Keep in mind this is a short term deal which are usually more expensive and Id rather have a short deal for a guy like Watson. If he's anything like what we has pre foot surgery, this is a steal. Watkins has much more upside than Robinson.

Veach either 1- Ate up most of the Chiefs' cap space (roughly around 26 m) with two signings (reported 25 m AAV) or 2- pushed a huge amount of money to the next two years for two guys, and is still likely paying 2/3 AAV this year (roughly 17 m). With such a huge chunk going to a WR and alot of worries still on D that you can't necessarily rely on 3rd round picks to fix, there is some room for concern. |
