Here's what a super senior level music attorney friend of mine had to say about the Zeppelin ruling:

Larry Ferrara certainly made a difference, as well as this judge standing firm by allowing the jury to consider only what was registered in the Copyright Office and not hear the recording.

His jury instruction was also crucial, telling them essentially that the chord changes were not subject to copyright protection. If this had been the judge in the Blurred Lines case, and if Ferrara had been able to testify for the defense, I have no doubt the result there would have been far different.

I had these scumbags lift my entire last novel and put a Youtube video offering it free. They took my artwork and insinuated it was with my blessing. After I sent them several emails and made a formal complaint for blatant Copyright infringement, they took the link down.

Music, art, writing, poetry have all been devalued and water-downed to a point where consumer's feel it should be free.

Someone on Amazon also sells my market research reports. They pull them off our clients' websites and list them for sale. We debated reporting it, but oddly, it's kind of marketing for us. We make money off the work, so if someone reads it and contacts us, great. But it's still weird.

And you have a novel? Do tell.

I have published 2 novels through Createspace - an Amazon company. Here is a link to my Official Page.

I am finishing my 3rd now-down to the last two chapters. It is a murder mystery that takes place in British Columbia, centering around the Highway of Tears murders. Although I have learned a lot through Amazon, I plan on finding an agent and selling this one through a traditional publisher.

That's really cool! I hope you do well with them.

(I really need to get a Kindle, too.)

Thanks so much! They have done well so far. It was a long hard road to get to that point.

This.

I feel lucky to have seen them on the Plant / Page tour- their last tour together. I have liked Plant's last few solo records as well. It is not really rock-but he has a good band behind him and his voice is still amazing.

It's not a very good song.

Check out Carolan's Dream. (Circa: Somewhere between 1670 to 1738 AD).
