If you were the least bit introspective, you'd see a marked 'get a load of these yahoos' tinge to your posting here lately.

It would be different if you actually engaged arguments and made affirmative stances you stood behind, but you just peek your head in mid-argument and pop off with 'LOL losers' and leave.

All I did was observe that you lied about what I was saying. I have no idea what you mean about the "tinge" of my posting. Can you provide examples? Are you mad because I laughed when you compared Smith to Russell Wilson? My opinions on things are backed with my observations and factual evidence, with a minimum of personal insults by cp standards. Sorry if I offended you, however that may have happened.

I accepted that the day he showed up. I havent said anything negative about him in a couple of months at least. You seem confused.

Point is, this is the issue being re-re-re-re-re-argued.

And you hop in when someone gets a little loose with the precise definition of retread.
I ask if we're even talking about the initial premise anymore.
You reply you don't give a **** about the initial premise, just the careless expansion of the word 'retread' to be a shorthand for something other than drafting and developing your own franchise qb from a high first round draft pick, instead of typing out a longform precise delineation of terms each and every time one posts.

People ride my ass here daily for being pedantic, or holding people to the actual meaning of their 'figures of speech' or 'it's just an expression' or 'you know what I meant.' But at least I do in in the course of making an argument.

You've shown a penchant for poking your head in and correcting semantic carelessness, then laughing at or belittling the misuser, without making an actual argument yourself. That's all.

I'm not offended, but it would be nice to have a consensus. I'm more than comfortable holding others and myself to the precise meaning and portent of their statements here. If that's what we're gonna do, then don't anyone bitch when it happens. If it's not what we're gonna do, then sniper fire like this is a little out of line.

milkman 01-17-2016 06:41 PM

Can anyone find a definition that actually fits how we use the word retread?

MMXcalibur 01-17-2016 06:45 PM

Thanks for the Ten Things this season, George.

Personally, I went into the season with the bar set at "get a playoff win" and the Chiefs cleared it. In my opinion, the season has been a success.

Next season (for me anyways), it's AFC Championship Game or bust.

Every post I've made in this thread

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/searc...archid=1166208

I pointed out a player on a list that I didn't think belonged there. Nobody forced you or anyone else to respond to it. Your characterization of my posts as "I don't give a ****" is inaccurate, as is your characterization of how I interact with the board at large. If you think I'm not contributing discussion the way you want me to, don't bother reading it. If the thread has been derailed, it wasn't me who did it.

People call you pedantic because you're a supercilious ****. It is utterly idiotic to compare a player like Favre, for which there was no book, to a kitchen appliance or a player with 7-10 years of NFL experience.

Your "arguments" are rarely as noble as you claim above, as they are either chock with snark and derision, which undermines any real attempt for a real discussion, or they are filled with chest-puffing, obscurantist bullshit from which you drop inane Latin phrases in order to make yourself sound superior.

You sit down at a greasy spoon with a white glove, flick your finger across the table top, and sneer, and then wonder why people look shake their heads.

I pointed you to the context of the informal use of the term and you replied that it had NOTHING TO DO with technical misuse of the term. So yeah, you didn't 'give a ****' what was being discussed, just a semantic snipering.

If the informal use of the term gets bret favre lumped in with a bunch of guys who began their run of success under completely different terms, then yeah, I'm going to disagree with that informal use of the term. You don't have to get mad about it, nor cast unfair, inaccurate aspersions, nor mischaracterize the tone or intent of my posts. That's your choice to make.

****ing asshole :)

I had no idea the depth and breadth of your passion for Favre's legacy in all venues. I apologize for besmirching his honor.

supercilious **** :)

Several of you guys really ruined George Blowfish's last Ten Things of the year with your stupid 5 page argument and hijacking of this thread!!!

Shame on you!

Same here (the Chiefs didn't draft Lenny), otherwise great write-up!

BTW, we had a good re-tread QB that we let go (stupidly, IMHO) who went on to win a SB with our arch-rival Raiders...Rich Gannon.

Gannon lost to TB in the Super Bowl, didn't he??
