I wish Rainman was here to tell us how he would defuse the situation. He would probably spin yarn about how he just got done Taping up the bridge of his glasses and he doesn't want violence to cause him specticle harm.

Firing an employee after they report a hostile work environment would open the company up to a major law suit so I seriously doubt that's what happens. If the company has half a brain anyway.

You seriously think you'd have a case for "hostile work environment" based upon one confrontation which was not about any of the trigger reasons (sex, race, etc...)?

More likely to go with failure to adequately protect against violence in the work place under a knew or should have known umbrella with the employer being liable for the resulting environment.

I have done manual labor, and had shitty bosses. That is why I went to school, so I wouldn't have to lose my self-respect working for an asshole that yells all the time.
