In fairness, there wasn't a good pick for us in 2009. The first round was pretty much a big bucket of George Paton-level failure. But it's still telling that Pioli reached even during a draft that weak.

Hard to believe we went thru matt cassle, tyler Thigpen, Brody croyle, and Kyle orton.. by the time we got alex smith, we became instantly better. But even he sucked. 220 yds a game was great for him. My God how far we've come with Mahomes.
