love Chiefs

like steelers

hate dungver
hate faiders

dislike Ravens (mainly because Ray Lewis is an arrogant ass)

root against Dallas,NY Giant (mostly because i don't like Texas or New York)

temporarily root against any team that wins too much.

temporarily root against anyone with a Manning or a Favre on their roster. (just get sick of hearing about them)

everyone else is "meh"

Which is why it is important for KC to try to make a decision within the next 2 weeks so that next years staff can get to the Senior Bowl.

Someone moved from the coaching ranks to mid-senior guy on the draft/personnel side last year, and the rumor is he might be the guy tapped. Pats HIGHLY value having the coaches and the scouts/GM very closely aligned. The scouts need to know what OUR team wants, not what the average team wants, or what might look great in another system. What works in OUR system.

I remember reading last year, after Dimitroff took the job in Atlanta, how he thought drafting the BAP was complete b.s.

Also, Amnorix, what's the view of McDaniels up there? He gets mentioned along with Ferentz as the top two candidates should Pioli take a GM job.

From PFT:

We continue to be flooded with e-mails from folks who claim that Pats V.P. of player personnel Scott Pioli soon will be introduced as the new G.M. of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Though it’s our general understanding that these reports are premature at best, the tight lid that the Chiefs have kept on the situation makes it very hard to know precisely what in the hell is going on out there.

Len Dawson, formerly of the Chiefs and currently of KMBC-TV in Kansas City, generally cites “reports around the country” indicating that Pioli will be hired by the Chiefs before pointing out only the Eagle Tribune (your guess is as good as ours . . . actually, it’s in North Andover, Massachusetts) in support of the notion that the deal is done, and that the only step remaining is for Pioli to sign the contract.

Also, 610 Sports radio in Kansas City reported on Wednesday that the Chiefs have offered the G.M. job to Pioli.

Still, neither the Chiefs nor Pioli have said anything about the situation.

Other candidates are believed to be Mark Dominik of the Buccaneers and Jimmy Raye of the Chargers.

Interesting take on Pioli from the Boston Globe chat area:

Update from someone inside the Chiefs organization!
Submitted by Rocky Alden on January 7, 2009 - 6:13pm.

Okay gang, as many of you know I still have friends at the highest level in the Chiefs organization and have this info to share with full confidence: Scott Pioli is the new GM. His announcement will come Thursday or Friday at the latest. Clark and Scott are working out the finer points of his contract tonight (money & control), but the deal is sealed. Also, Clark informed Herm Edwards and his coaching staff that they will be released. All assistants can reapply through Scott.

I only share this information because I'm no longer with the team and it's fun to share that a new day is dawning at Arrowhead. Scott Pioli will quickly move to clean out the front office and hire a new coach.

The only info I have on the new coach is it will not be Kirk Ferentz from the Iowa Hawkeyes. Kirk coaches his son at Iowa and does not want to leave until his son graduates.

Mike Shanahan has contacted Pioli, but I don't know any info beyond that.

If Pioli is hired and then hires the Rat the Mange server would explode. ROFL

OK I have read this entire thread. But not one word about his watch. I'm dying with curiosity. Is it the only one of its kind. If not why does it deserve a thread?
