We should be expecting a HOF caliber QB in time. We traded 2 first round picks for him, yes? We want to win a SB, right?

We’ve watched a choke artist QB as emphasized specifically the last 2 years. I see that same choke artistry from 2-5 playoff Romo and no playoff win Derek Carr.

The bar is supposed to be set high. We all know this and should expect nothing less.

Matt Cassel was definitely overpaid. He made close to what Smith made, but 5 years sooner, when salaries were a lot lower. He has never received close to that money since, and we had to cut him. Whereas, Smith netted us a very good compensation in trade and was given a lot bigger contract than he was making here. Add to that the fact that he had a winning season every year here and capped it off with league leading stats last year, and I will argue that he was worth every penny.

If you’re expecting a hall of fame guy, man, you’re likely to be disappointed.

Playoff wins and losses aren’t really a stat I’d look at when discussing qb play, too many factors there.

But carry on

That's just great, man.

Maybe you can put ASS11 in your own personal ring of fame.

Years from now you'll remember these golden days.

It's too bad Hootie isn't here because just the mention of Romo would have resulted in burst.

Lol. There you go changing what I said. I never said anything about him being so great. I know that the move to draft Mahomes was the best thing for the Chiefs and I'm excited about it. But to say that Smith wasn't worth his middle of the pack salary is a joke. He got paid middle of the pack starter pay for middle of the pack quarterback play. He wasn't a backup. He didn't deserve backup pay, regardless of whether you think his play was worth it or not. He is a 13 year starter in the NFL. 13 year starters don't grow on trees.

Alex Smith was the perfect Chiefs quarterback. He did a reasonable job and lost in the playoffs. That's as Chiefly as you can get.

I'd take Romo for nothing more than his ability to attract hatter cheerleaders to the squad..

For those who think it’s only the QB, Pat doesn’t need to be a HOF to end the pants shitting January routine.

The Chiefs can’t afford to pay top dollar for a QB that doesn’t get it done after years of trying and a good defense.

Revisionist history.

Romo had a top 10 defense in terms of scoring once in nine seasons (20th or worse in five of the nine seasons).

Romo had a top 10 rushing attack twice in nine seasons.

To compare the help that Romo had with the help that Alex had is disingenuous. Romo is one of the more underrated QBs of all time.

I would be perfectly fine with Super Bowl MVP.

The reason they were a laughing stock was not the talent on the roster. It was the Coaching staff being a complete joke and Fat Scott forcing his hand-picked, complete garbage QB on the coach.

Not everyone gets a chubby simply from not being bad and being a playoff participant (which they still could have easily done with Carson Palmer. Or even a player of "good backup QB" quality like Moore or Daniel. Or Foles.

Don't bother. You'll never convince these tards that anyone with a functioning arm and brain couldn't have hopped on the back of this team, and made Lil' Chiefy's Sundays "not suck".

I'm just glad the barnacle has been pried from the hull, and this ship will now be captained by a QB worthy of the position.

And no, no thanks or other groveling compensation will be given to Alex "Thank God Gone" Smith.

Then quit trying to say Alex did anything worth a **** for this team that Kyle ****ing Orton couldn't do.

It's that goddamned simple.

Problem solved!
