Guys. They aren't trading him at this point in the season. He'll show up, play and either get tagged and traded or let walk.

Don't overcomplicate this.

It would make zero sense. If he sat out he would only do so if he believed he could get another deal so much more than what the Chiefs are offering that it would make up for $20 million he loses this year. Clearly that wouldn’t happen.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Le'Veon Bell prove that sitting out was always a mistake? CJ will never make back that $20M if he sits out. It's in his best financial interest to play this year.


Not that it matters. I'm 100% certain he'll play for the Chiefs in 2023. and still about 90% certain Veach gets him to re-sign an extension for the next four years as well.


All of this drama is just the nonsense that has to happen before the deal gets done because it's the NFL and everything works out like this now.

I've heard, and read, some stuff today that says he has lost 2.4 million already. Each preseason game is roughly 1.1 million. So if he holds out past the Browns preseason game on the 26th, he will be over 5 million, and could go over 6 million before the regular season games begin.

A week ago Veach sounded pretty optimistic that a deal will get done. I trust Veach 100% in whatever he decides to do
