Same thing happened to Paul George as well in the NBA.

Maybe the Bills choose to forfeit this one or the Bills/Bengals mutually decide on something else but, as callous as it might be, the show has to go on in the end. The alternative path leads to an ethical discussion about what the NFL actually is and the NFL can't have that.

Also, wasnt a Bills player 15 years ago or so essentially parylized on the field and the game went on? I remember that being even scarier on field than this.

Kevin Everett...broken neck on a kick off. Pretty scary.

Thank God for the training staff, medical staff, EMT's, etc. Those folks deserve a hell of a lot of credit.

He's probably brain dead at this point if he is even alive. The family is likely being faced with a very difficult decision on whether to proceed with care, or take him off the machines keeping him "alive". I hope to God none of this is what is actually happening.

Should we maybe set up a separate thread for updates on his well-being separate from the football talk?

Time and a place for both, but maybe they shouldn’t be intermingled in a GDT thread?

More recently, Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest when he collapsed during Denmark's Euro 2020 opening match against Finland. CPR, defibrillation on the field. Play resumed 48 minutes later.

It's taken on a life of it's own. I think it's fine.
