His level of play was so average, they could have returned to respectability with Reid and a lot of cheaper options at QB. I'm glad they have Mahomes and have finally moved on from Alex Smith. They got lucky and had that work out. I'd rather have spent 2013 and 2014 picks that went to San Fran on cheap young players at other positions. They overpaid to be not terrible at QB. Could have paid less for cheaper placeholders. |

Dude, good luck finding a QB that will suit up and be healthy for almost five years. Seriously. It's like you all forgot about the Haurd, Thigpen, Croyel, Brady Quinn, Orton, Cassel shit show years. |

Andy Reid claimed Mike Vick off the scrap pile and got to the playoffs with him. Alex Smith was overpaid for in trade and then overpaid again with the contract extension. |

Chiefs paid Smith 67 million, about 13.5 million a year. A lot of money sure, but not for a QB that is going to start pretty much every game for five seasons. |
Palmer would have been better but we got Mahomes and now Fuller. Glad we went the route we did.
|
Palmer would have never stayed upright in KC with our Oline for the past five years.

He was vastly, vastly overpaid those three seasons. That is the appreciation I have for Alex Smith vs "the going rate." |

Four playoff appearances in 5 years. Back to Back AFC West Champions Yeah, we have not done shit in the playoffs, got it. That does not equal a over paid QB. In fact Alex has been decent in play off games. He was not over paid. |

You act like he was the driving force behind all of that shit. Defense and running game did the heavy lifting for this team for four damn seasons, while he played like Damon ****ing Huard circa 2006. But Andy overpaid for his previous QB too so...not surprising. |
You know, both things can be true. He can be not really responsible for getting us to the playoffs, not really responsible for the losses and still be slightly underpaid, which he was.
