You don’t think fans booing the players and laughing at the staff is a good recruiting strategy?

I certainly don't understand spending 4+ hours on a Saturday going to a ballgame, shitting on your own squad and then congratulating yourself for being wrong on the internet.

And when he went for it on 4th and 2, he had a healthy QB that could (and did) take it himself. And they'd driven the ball forward a little on 2nd down. They werent on their heels like they were on that drive in the 4th facing 4th and 7.

There were silly mindless penalties that fall on preparation and he deserves heat for that. But everything else from a game management perspective was well handled. This "we should've been leading 24-14" shit is nonsense. Cook was hurt and I still see no reason to assume Horn was gonna come in cold and lead a TD drive. So they worked the clock and kept K-State from getting a drive to end the half. That's proper game management based on the situation rather than the mindless dogmatic nonsense being thrown around in this thread.

Eli coached a good game. Are his players as disciplined as they should be? No, I dont think so and again he has to wear that. But was he taken shots downfield? Yeah - a bunch of them. Did he adjust his offensive gameplan on the fly and get it lined out by the 4th quarter when his QB couldn't do what he had hoped for coming into the game because of injury? Yeah, he absolutely did. Did he handle the short yardage go/no go decisions well? Absolutely.

And yet you're still in here saying he coached a bad game. That's asinine.

Some people have comfortably shifted back into the Pinkel era. Yeah we won but they punted when they should have gone for thst first down. ****ing Gary!!!

Right? I've been openly critical of some of what this team has done. I've been critical of Drink and wary of Cook.

But this shit from the same ****ing guys who see the world as they want it to be rather than as it is has gone way beyond the pale.

We beat the 15th ranked team in the country and now it's "well when we play good teams...". Dafuq? A week ago we were gonna get dog walked and now K-State is St Mary's academy for the blind. "We should've been up 24-14" with an injured starter and a backup who's not nearly as mobile and doesn't process as quickly with an OL that is struggling. Yeah, that's rational.

No credit for anything that got done WELL. Just a bunch of bitching about how the staff doesn't do it exactly how they would and revisionist nonsense.

Why would you boo Cook today? Was 23-35 for 356 yards, 2 TDS, and 0 INTs not good enough for you against the #15 team in the country?

Zero people believe those recruits are anywhere NEAR as stupid as you.

They probably will.

I'm not sure I'd go that far. But if you start 3-0 and get a ranked win from a power conference, you're probably gonna be ranked.

They're still too erratic for my tastes, but I think they can beat anyone outside of the top 10 on a good day. The defense can keep them in most games and the offense has moments as well as a true blue-chip guy in Burden.

That's probably worth a ranking, but a tenuous one.

Nice reading comprehension. I booed him before the game like a lot of the other people there. I booed him because he has been just what we thought he would be all season before today and Drink continues to just trot him out there and hope for the best.

The mental mistakes today were ridiculous. The snap on 3rd down to an unready cook. A ****ing delay of game out of a timeout when you’re already looking at a 56 yard FG. That stuff will definitely not work for us in SEC play. We can act like K-State is a real top 20 team but this K-State team hasn’t really proved anything and they were also playing with a hobbled QB. Fantastic kick, but let’s not sit here and put a bow on that pile of shit last drive.

Hopefully I saved a couple of them from making huge mistakes. I’m still just in shock at whatever the hell Drink was doing with that drive. He can laugh and make jokes about it, but there’s a reason we were booing him.

Drinkwitz usually acts like a stone cold dumbass, but hoping he fails has real consequences for the program, especially with the NIL laws.

It's not like they can lose out and draft the best QB in the country.

I am going to assume that your comments about the 24-14 are directed to me because I stated my opinion that I thought it they should have been.

My belief is that we should have been up because Cook...and the offense...missed good opportunities. Cook, at times today, looked both good (the downfield throws) and at times he looked like lost. Part of that is the missed blocking assignments (back to back sacks where both came clean to get him). I don't like that he likes to run, because he really isn't as good as some say. Plus...if we don't trust Horn to come in we should minimize him running to ensure he doesn't get injured while running. (See today)

We have 2 RB's that, at most Power 5 teams wouldn't be starting. Beyond Burden, the rest of the receiving corp is really just OK as a supporting staff. (I will give Norfleet? the TE some ups for that one catch).

We had a defense today that looked schizophrenic....at times tight, and at times just not capable of tackling or recognizing the open guys over the middle. (To be fair I don't think I have ever seen a Mizzou coach figure out how to cover the middle of the field).

Sorry if I don't see Drinkowitz in the same manner as you......especially after that end of the game penalty that might have cost us the game. That is on him...and anyone who says differently is trying to give him a pass.

I will give him points for going for it on 4th and 2...and props to the OC for the play call on that one.

I'll give Drink his due where he deserves it....and I have. But just as many times you look at what he does and you scratch your head.

Hey dipshit there was a penalty on the last kick. Suck my ass tard

duncan_idaho 09-16-2023 04:31 PM

Well, Brady Cook made me eat crow today. I didn’t think he had that level of performance in him.

The ankle injury clearly affected him and some of their playbook, but he performed well overall.

Hopefully, that’s a win that can be a catapault and they can avoid a devastating let-down loss to Memphis next weekend.

Luther Burden has taken a MAJOR leap as a receiver. He’s really good.

I really think Burden's going to eventually be the best player to come out of Mizzou. I think he's going to be a top 5-10 pick after next year. He's fast and can high point like a mother****er. I wasn't expecting him to be this good.

I'll give him credit for winning....but you need to also acknowledge his shortcomings....I don't think I have ever seen that from you.

Also...I will feel better about us beating K-State if they find a couple of quality wins down the road. Thus far they beat SE MO State and Troy....if they lose to UCF, Okie State and Texas Tech in the next 3 games it kind of takes away the shine

He's also a damn load to bring down in the open field. Shifty and runs through a lot of the weak contact he creates because he is shifty.

He's got some Deebo Samuel in him in that regard. Though I think he is faster and is going to be a better pure receiving threat than Samuel.

If we are using the “dollars earned per play” metric you’re 100% correct. Not sure it’s even close. Wondering how that metric ranks all time, now that I think about it.

Aldon Smith should win this award. Could have been one of the best ever.

Yeah, duh. That dude was absolute money. If Burden keeps up doing what he's doing, then I think he could surpass Daniel. Burden is on a different level than any other skilled position player we've had outside of Maclin, but I think Burden is quite a bit more talented than Maclin.

He's the #1 kid in KS in his class.

Nice.

Isn't that the school where the former chiefs OL (that sucks all kinds of ass on the radio) would constantly steer kids away from Mizzou?

It was Grunhard at Miege, right? Gotta assume he's gone?

Because we never got anyone from those guys when he was there.

Oh yeah. He's long gone.

They got a good player out of there two years ago. Jalen Marshall.

WOW!! What an upset! Unranked MIZZOU knocks off #15 K-State! Heard we were going to get slaughtered and believed it. Let's go!!!

Arky got beat by bible and Vandy lost to Odom lol

Maybe a 9-10 win season could happen if they can avoid letdowns

Im always here for the lulz when Arkansas loses, but wouldn’t it be they lost to “The Book (of Mormon)” rather than the Bible? Either way, lol that they lost.

I'm not sure when he was steering because Shane Ray was from Bishop Miege. Dawson Downing was too, but he was a legacy walk-on. Jafar Armstrong was committed to Mizzou, but went to Notre Dame, then Illinois and finally Western Illinois when he was as old as Ric Flair.

That’s hilarious. This is the guy that was right behind me that I was high-fiving after every touchdown. Nice kid. You can act like Drink didn’t **** up the end of that game all you want, but it’s not like those recruits don’t know football. I wasn’t breaking some secret to them that that was handled like shit. :LOL:LMAO

What I did do was start the Luther chant after his second TD and yelled my voice out for the defense. I did nothing to detract any recruits today like all you little boosters are afraid of. :)

There's almost nothing worse than people putting the laughing emojis when they're being incredibly douchy and the post is in no way funny.

How many times did you boo Cook? How many other players did you boo? Just trying to get a more accurate feel for how "cool" or "awesome" you actually were today.

At the beginning of the game like a lot of the other fans around me. I never said I booed him more than that, you just have really bad reading comprehension and I didn’t think it was necessary to keep telling you that. I booed the decision making at the end because I was completely ****ing pissed off. The timeout after a first down when you literally have 1 timeout left. The delay of game out of a timeout when you’re on the fringe of long field goal range. Those things are inexcusable and it was like watching a 3rd grader play Madden.

Mizzou_8541 09-17-2023 12:06 AM

A grown man submitting a soliloquy about why he booed a college kid tells you all you need to know about the person.

It’s almost on the level of grown men worrying about the future of their old schools athletic program being in trouble for a fan speaking his opinion in front of their most highly coveted children.

This post is in the mix for “Largest Loser on the Internet” and he can’t even realize why or stop digging. No one cares about you. Especially the recruits you were allegedly annoying with your game commentary.

My original post was in reference to people asking if people were booing Cook before the game. Since I was there and right by the bench I was just confirming that it was a large portion of the crowd that did it. I wasn’t the only one like some of you are acting like. You all can act appalled that people would do such a thing, but there’s obviously a reason for it. Cook played his ass off yesterday in that game and I didn’t hear a single person booing him during the game, but anyone acting like the crowd shouldn’t have been pissed off going into the game about how this QB situation has been handled over the last year is being completely obtuse.

I’m definitely not the one thinking any of those recruits thought about anything I said, so I’m not sure who you’re talking to when you’re trying to remind me of that, but I’ll make sure to pass it along to the butt hurt wannabe boosters worried about some pregame boo birds derailing whatever progress they think we’re making.

Juju Marks actually goes to St. Thomas Aquinas. They played my nephew's school a few weeks back. Hard to believe he's a Jr and not a grown man. When he gets his man-strength, it's going to be scary

Ah shit. I got my Ks- based Papist schools mixed up.

My bad.

Only notable if he had come out of the Hymen Brand Academy rather than Miege...they don't put a lot of D1 talent out.

Man, I usually enjoy your posts but I think you under appreciate how stupid you came off describing your game day in Columbia.
