He will help us...never.

And I only say that because nobody that's suffered this injury ever has. At least not on the OL.

It's beyond reckless. It's just ****ing stupid.

Wow calm down. Give me an actual tackle comparison.

Dude, a 6th rounder is a flyer. Odds of that player making the team is incredibly low. If you miss on a 6th rounder, who could really blame you?

This is not the same thing. This is gambling with your 1st rounder. This is playing with fire.

Best pick since pat.

@ me in 2 years.

Semichief 04-24-2025 10:02 PM

I absolutely did not want this pick.

That said, the Chiefs HAVE to figure this position out. It’s costing us titles. A player of Simmons’ talent will never fall this low again. Is it a risk? Yes - 10 other teams would have taken him if they thought he was a sure thing. But continuing the dynasty will involve some risks and this is one the team was willing to take. So in that sense, I understand it and love it. If he’s healthy, it’s a home run and that’s a huge win from the 31st slot plus a 5th rounder.

And what about the other 31 teams?

Sure, others would’ve gone another direction regardless

But some are (likely falsely) claiming this guy would’ve been a top 10 pick? Why was there no super aggressive team making a move up?

Why did he fall to 32?

Plenty of teams could be very happy with a “top 5 value” in the mid teens.

Lamar Jackson fell to the end of the 1st.

Most NFL teans were wrong there it happens.

Interesting...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Asked about the tackle rotation, head coach Andy Reid reiterates what he has said in the past: best five. Mentions that Jaylon Moore can also play right tackle. Truly sounds like the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Chiefs?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Chiefs</a> will have a three-way battle (Josh Simmons, Jawaan Taylor, Moore) for two spots.</p>&mdash; Pete Sweeney (@pgsween) <a href="https://twitter.com/pgsween/status/1915616189977419954?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 25, 2025</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Along the same lines, you would think Veach expected Simmons to be drafted by another team pretty soon (early 2nd round perhaps?). If you thought he would still be there, you sit back and wait to the end of 2nd round or even later rounds like they did with Trey Smith.

If he's the LT, why did they give Moore 2 years 30mil with 21 guaranteed? If they wanted a stop gap why not get the more sure thing in Cam Robinson who got only got 1 yr 12mil.

Best 5. Ain't that complicated. If Simmons puts Moore or Taylor on the bench, so be it.

What offensive tackle has Veach drafted that was any good?

Andy says it’s a three-man competition for the two tackle spots. :)

Touché.

I’m definitely not against it, all I’m saying is that if the injury is as bad as DJ is saying and the stats coming back from it are really bad…. Then that would be worrying.

I myself don’t know anything about that type of injury. Just to be clear

Microfacture is way different from a torn patellar. People just don't make it back to the same place they were, before they sustain this type of injury. So much evidence to support this. Huge gamble. Just have to hope that they are right.
