Lets talk more Tacos. I had some delicious Chicken Tacos the other day.

I’m going to go look for boxes of shells tomorrow. I will buy what I find.

Grab a soft taco tortilla and smear a thin layer of refried beans on it then wrap it around a typical crispy beef taco. |

Me and a manager that worked under me used to make them at Taco Bell in the early 90's. At some point Taco Bell released them as double decker tacos, then discontinued them. Tasty, doesn't fall apart, more filling than a single normal taco. |

Taco Bell really ****ed that up. The original item was perfect, but it was meant to be a limited time only special. They would bring it back, but only intermittently, so a stable supply of ingredients was never established and quality could not be maintained. You might remember the Chilito taking its place at one point. That was to mask the issue by pretending it was a different item. I think they finally gave up. |
OK, La Tiara fans. I've been made aware of a pretty decent alternative that's made locally. Same thin and crispy style.
Art's Molino & Market. Just off I-70 and 169, near where Slap's BBQ is. https://i.imgur.com/N0vTX0t.jpeg https://www.artsmolinoandmarket.com/ |
My mother said that Art's is what everyone bought before LaTiara came around, I'll be getting those too.
