Older vehicles are cheaper to insure/register..

It's the route I've taken, and it's worked out for me.

I don't like car payments.

Your car is already sharing all the data those insurance apps obtain, plus a lot more.

Do you know how much of your data already exists on the dark web? Old passwords, data breaches, old accounts you don't even know were hacked years ago.

If you want people to shit their pants in fear, you don't have to make up some made-for-movie bullshit, just show them what's already out there. You're terrified, half this thread is... but I bet you're still chugging along unaffected by the dark shadows.

Sorry, but the boogie man doesn't care about you, no matter how much your main character syndrome demands it. And it doesn't give a shit about me.

Maybe this is for the other forum but around here even there is always a lot of things to be legit concerned about and everyone seems to breeze past those and opt to focus on things that are questionable at best. Or even better the posters seems to assume they are main character and there is a single person in the world that cares about them that they do not already know.

Should be mandatory for anyone who checks the Asian box.

The Philipino woman who lives down the road from me would have the thing going off so often they'd send a ride along before declining her insurance. She's getting better, but we all learned to just get the hell out of her way during the process. LMAO

Seems logical that if an Insurance company takes your business, they should have access to your driving habits beyond speeding tickets. With technology today, new cars can collect that info and Insurers get access .

Good drivers should be rewarded. Fun thread.

Been a while since Ive posted

Happy New Year to all who are Chiefs fans wherever you are. May 2025 bring you and yours wonderful rewards and good health.

I haven't had any in many years either. The article below is another reason to favor older vehicles.

Very interesting article. Another reason to drive older vehicles.
Our newest is 11 years old, doubt it is sharing any data? If it is, whoever reads it will be bored to tears.

Alexa...I don't have anyone monitoring me throughout the day do I?

Of course, the cesspoolers will chime in and make up their own future fiction from that 'slippery slope', but at this very moment that's how it works.

This is correct. I have State Farm and we use the Drive Safe & Save app and devices in our vehicles. The only one that this doesn't apply to is my motorcycle. Anyway, they give discount based on driving habits. Wife and I do pretty well, for the most part. My daughter has become a decent driver, as well. My son, well his discount is very small. LMAO

My mother in law signed up for this recently. After a month, we shut it off. It was tracking her from an app on her phone ALL THE TIME, whether she was driving or not. She had several "violations" where she was a passenger in someone else's car.

LOL. I'd be shocked if that application you've installed on your phone isn't pinging some 3rd party service and sending your coordinates, speed, heading, make-model, name, marital status, family data, address, etc to 3rd party streaming aggregators (data brokers). Unbelievable that people do this sort of crap just to save a few penny's on the dollar.

Did you know that modern cars do that? Doesn't matter if you have an app on your phone.

That's the reason I never would have any Alexa devices. Still, we all have smart phones these days and well.........

On mine I am able to tell it I was the passenger.

Holy shit, if not the ride with my SIL to grandsons football game would have ended it. :D

Also, it doesn't activate until continuous movement at driving speeds is detected.
