Admittedly, I've only been a few times but here, 5 Guys is just a sloppy, greasy mess.

Add in the atmosphere of the store (so loud they can't hear you order if you scream at them from 2 feet away) and it's just not a good experience at all.

What the ****? You must have a dogshit Five Guys near you. I don't even know what you mean by the "atmosphere of the store" since here it's pretty much quiet except for calling out orders.

We have 2 or 3 in the Des Moines metro but the one closest to me is louder than many concerts...

I went with Culver’s. I just had Freddy’s for the first time last year when I was in MO. It was really damn good, like Steak n Shake should be/used to be. If I’d have had a few more of their burgers I may have been swayed. But I’m sticking with Culver’s.

What is loud about the 5 Guys near you, htismaqe? Music, people, equipment?

I've been to a few 5's in Tulsa and OKC and they are pretty quiet.

All of the above.

The music is loud, the exhaust fans are louder, and the customers are forced to up the volume to overcome it, making it just over the top.
