It's not my fault. I didn't even set those rules. DaFace set those rules for Hootie. Hootie agreed. Hootie told me, "Fine I won't be a dick, or banter, or do anything fun. I'll just turn into tk13."

He didn't abide by the probationary terms. Despite being given two strikes DURING probation.

I know I'm not a Hootie fan. I'm well aware of the mutual disdain. But I didn't force Hootie to engage Frazod or anybody else. I hoped he could avoid confrontations like that. I SUPPORTED HIS RETURN. I knew this uproar was imminent. I knew it wouldn't be a popular decision. I knew I was going to waste half my weekend explaining why. I've moderated sites like this for over a decade. I am aware of the dynamics of an internet community, particularly ChiefsPlanet.

Do you want me to ban Frazod, who is not on probation, who has not been told he has to avoid Hootie? Is it Frazod's fault? Honestly, if it's not Hootie's fault that he can't follow his agreement then whose fault is it?

Yes, I know you didn't set the rules. I would just think that a reasonable person would see that he was simply responding to a shot from another poster and wouldn't do anything about it. It's as if you were following him around waiting for him to slip up. That's the problem here.

And no, I don't give a shit if you ban Frazod. He's a ****, but he shouldn't be banned anymore than the rest of the people on here who do nothing besides get into arguments. It isn't as if Hootie or Frazod or 10 other people only make up that list.

It isn't anyone's fault.

It is your fault for taking an "agreement" to an extreme level that I'm sure wasn't the idea when he was allowed back.

I give zero shits that you "called him out" for his post, whatever the **** that means in your weird mind.

I do give a shit that he was supposed to just not say anything back to you.

As much as you would love for this to be about you, it isn't.

It sure is funny to hear you carry on about poor abused Hootie when you dangled off ROR's nuts forever. I lost count of the number of times you stalked him throughout the board. Hell, he hasn't posted here since September, and still you nominated him in the DOTY poll.

But poor little Hootie, when he's an idiot, we should all just leave him alone, right?

Go **** yourself.

I'm actually getting pissed because this could have been completely avoided if hootie and the parties involved all ignored each other. You gave him an impossible restriction when the opposition had none pertaining to him. They had rights to jump on him when he was supposed to bend over and say, "Please sir, I want some more?" **** that.

Yet, that didn't really happen, beyond one person following him around. And Hootie not only didn't ignore that person, he started following him around and telling other posters "oh, ignore that guy, he's just a blah blah blah".

We aren't here to babysit... we specifically told Hootie that people would probably try to bait him, and he would have to ignore it. He agreed and followed it for all of 3 weeks.

Your reading comprehension is ****ing horrible.

Where did I say the above? Again, I couldn't possibly care less if you decide to "call Hootie out" constantly. Doubt Hootie did either.

However, he should absolutely be allowed to respond to you, regardless of some "short leash agreement."

But he wasn't, dumbass. Which is the whole point.

It's my fault that Hootie couldn't follow the terms of his probation as defined by DaFace?

I like going to Buffalo Wild Wings a lot. One time I got really drunk and there was an embarrassing altercation with a bartender and a waitress. I got kicked out and told to never return.

A few months later, I called up the manager and told him that I really really liked their wings and beer and that I would do ANYTHING if he'd let me come back.

He talked it over with the General Manager and the bartender and they said that I could come back if I avoided the bartender and that waitress.

Turns out I couldn't help myself. I got into it with the bartender again. I got kicked out again. DAMN THAT GENERAL MANAGER!!!!

Cool story. I would imagine that the general manager would have probably kept his employees in check in that scenario and not allowed them to walk up to your table and take a shit on it.

He was permabanned, he knows it was a bannable offense, and obviously shouldn't have been invited back once, much less twice. He couldn't go a month without calling people out, carrying arguments from thread to thread, and attacking people, after already being permabanned twice & specifically being told to let things go. Phobia explains it here, too. How many of the 57 posts considered all of that? Since most of it is buried in a 1200 post thread, I'm guessing not many.

My question is. have you guys ever considered banning somebody quietly? I dont get the attention hes getting after the fact.

Why do you have to explain anything? its just begging for threads like these.

Let's say there's a special feature at this BW3 that allows you to... oh, I don't know... IGNORE everything the bartender could ever say to you so that you'd never hear it or see it? Do you think maybe I should have checked into using that special feature at this BW3 since my instructions were to specifically avoid that bartender?

Sure. Hootie deserves to be banned for all the shit he stirs up on the board, but it's super secret shit that most of us don't even know about. That's hilarious.

Every drug addict in the world wants you as their probation officer.

"No worries, it's not your fault. I mean, that bad drug dealer walked right up to you and offered you a rock. What were you supposed to do?"

BigMeatballDave 01-15-2012 08:54 PM

What specific rules has Hootie broken?

Happens at least once or twice a month - the quiet banning of somebody.

I make it a personal policy to explain because I don't want to be perceived as a tyrant. That doesn't appear to be working for me.
